Cutting carts to drip?

Hi guys-

This may be a really dumb question considering how quickly mods are created around here and all, but I was looking at the stainless t-tips today and was wondering: has anyone tried to cut out the top portion on the circular carts in order to create direct access to dripping on the atomizer, similar to a t-tip?

I'm sure it's been done but couldn't find a thread on it. The stainless tips are nice but sometimes we get cold winters here in Vancouver and I'm thinking my lips are gonna freeze if I have to suck on one of those when I'm out and about LOL :p

Also, obviously cutting a cart would be more economical. I dont have a cart in front of me (waiting for my Ego) so I cant check to see if it would work myself. Would be nice to grab my eGo with a bottle of juice and be on my way, and not have to worry about taking carts off to drip if I'm in a bar/club/car etc...

If anyone has tried this, does it work??

Thanks - appreciate all the help and support on these forums!

I think the op is talking about making a "bowl" out of an E-cig and dripping into where you'd normally hit it with a lighter.

Pretty interesting idea...

That's def one way to look at it. I mean just cutting out a larger hole in the mouthpiece (where you draw from) so rather than have to take it off and drip, you can drip straight through it and not have to remove anything.

I wonder if the draw would be too light doing this though...

If I'm getting this right then I'd say, just take the cart off period and tailpipe it. I did this for awhile, but stopped because the juice was getting on my lips and causing sores. The atty shouldn't get hot enough to cause any discomfort, in fact I found it cooled off quicker with no cart on it. I know I'm not the only one who has done this.

well I was curious so I actually tried it.. took the two caps out ,,, but it doesn't drip and vape like tailpiping.. well at least as is... you will have to do some modding

reason....the only openings you have are the two that are along the sides... so those small areas will be where the liquid goes and where you will be inhaling... that small surface area will cause delays between dripping and vaping.... someone is going to have to mod one up a bit if they truly want this to work ....

good luck and I will be checking in from time to time :D

Originally I was using a drill to remove the cart after removing the two plastic caps. Currently I just remove the two caps and drip through. The cart doesn't seem to slow down the juice much... maybe wait 10 seconds before taking a vape.

For anyone thinking about trying this, give it a shot. It takes all the hassle out of dripping, and the vapor feels more like a regular cig because it's not shooting in through a tiny hole.

Edit: I should mention that I use a PG formula. If your juice is thick it would probably be wise to remove the cart section with a drill/hot nail/exacto knife. But if your juice is thin, you will find that it's not necessary.

i just now popped the end cap off a one-piece, and then pulled out the 'cap' to the reservoir. works just like tailpipe without the burnt lips.

You were burining your lips while tailpiping? My atties never get hot enough to burn me unless they are clogged and need a cleaning or need to be thrown out.

I might be speaking out of line,, but I am assuming ejoker meant hot enough for discomfort.. not a severe degree of burn... we all gotta admit the 510 atties do get hot at times :D but not peeling skin off the tube kind :D

I've done that to carts on my 510 and it works fine. It's a lighter draw but I adjusted rather quickly. Just pop off the cap at the tip, then pull out another piece a little further inside. Then, you must drill a larger hole in the 3rd plastic piece inside the cart. It's about 1/2 way in. I found a 5/16 bit worked well. I wrapped a folded piece of paper towel around the cart and gripped it with pliers so I wouldn't hurt myself if the bit slipped. Have fun and be careful!
