I recently upped my NIC from 18 to 24, after vaping 18mg for almost 9 months. My intake has dropped almost in half and I feel less dry overall. I am convinced that nic absorption rate is not proportional to nic amount, instead more NIC absorbs faster, maybe even exponentially. I could be wrong. We will see how long I can keep this up but I was just tired of chain vaping all day long and I got to believe its not healthy to vape 4-5ml /day. Also at 24 mg I barely use 2 cartos a day, at that rate I can afford to buy prefilled and just toss them. I would love to drop to 12 or 6 but I don't think that is possible for me.

Yeah, I think I vape more (chaining) as I drop the nic level...but I get it slowly throughout the day, not all at once. At least that's my theory, and I'm sticking to it. At least I'm not pacing the floor, talking a mile a minute.

That's one thing I notice with the 6mg, I keep vaping... loving the inhale/exhale sensation. That's the best part! Add REALLY good juice, I can't put it down. Strawnanna Smoothie, spiked egg nog, smores, buttery nipple... and I just got some new sweet vapes from the new juice line that I can't wait to try. All the delicious flavors keep me vaping. It never stops.

I actually tried 0 nic for awhile, but it was like drinking flat soda to me (not that I drink soda anymore ;) ). I keep it low now, like below 6, and what really amazes me is that I can go for crazy long periods of time now without vaping when I have to. When I was smoking, 2 hours tops and I'd go ballistic. So I think my nic habit is under control, but now I'm hooked on flavors!

I started at 12, then cut down to 8-9, then to 7.2 (I know, oddball number, huh?), then down to 6. Now I can happily be at 4-6. When I was stepping down, I forced myself to fight through withdrawals, which really only lasted a week or two anyway.

yes I agree ...ive just realized myself over the last 2mths...I can actually wake up now...and do stuff ...before I need to have a vape...before don't go near deb...until her cup of tea or ciggy....or else:evil: the best is I can go shopping spend a few hours.. out and about.before needing a nic hit....its the keeping busy for me....or I need my dummy bat....also im putting limits on flavours in 2013....ive got to stop the lost in the candy store...honestly the mess I keep making ...bottles here bottles there ...clearos leaking...whats in this whats in that....so ill buy the flavours....but im on only 3 flavs a day :rules:......you got that deb.....mmmmmm:facepalm:

I know this is an older thread, but just had to post.

Dang, you guys are really putting me to shame here. I've been vaping over 3 yrs, but I'm still at 18mg. I vaped 24mg with an occasional 36mg for over 2 yrs. And I was proud of myself for getting it down to 18 mg. I do 12mg for the last couple of hours of my evening.

One thing that IS different is that I don't really chain-vape anymore. But I just have to have that 18mg to feel satisfied. I probably go through maximum 3 ml a day. I used to go thru 4 or 5ml.

Guess I just have an addictive personality. Well, at least it isn't cigarettes. Or something even worse. :vapor:

Sitting down, facing forward.
After 50 years of one to three packs a day I started out at 18mg and switched to 12mg. The last batch of base liquid I mixed at 10mg and I don't see much of a difference at all, although my BP seems to have dropped about 5 points when I check it in the morning. That's one of the advantages of DIY, I can set my nicotine level a little lower at a time, rather than "stepping" in the pre-set steps that pre-mixed liquids come in. I do chain vape, well sort of chain vape anyway, at about 5ml a day. That hand mouth thing is a killer for me.

Ok... I tried REALLY hard to make my body adjust to 6mg with great flavors... but cravings started to kick in... increasing... Had to go back to 18mg. The craving was satisfied and the chainvaping slowed down. Now I'm back to 18mg in the morning then down to 12mg for the rest of the day. I'm so glad that I keep different nic level juices in my stock because I'm not ready for 6mg... I'm going to stop trying to force it right now. I NEED 18mg.

Overall, I guess it's what ever works for each of us. Nicotine dependence, especially coupled to the hand/mouth habit and the "oral" fixation, all combine differently for each of us. I'm hoping to eventually get down to 0mg by dropping it every couple of months or so by 2mg. I'm also trying to limit the amount of vaping time to help lower the need for nicotine. It's a hard balance to find, but I'm determined to find it. I do enjoy "smoking" so I can see myself vaping at 0mg and fooling with additives to provide that throat hit.

I smoked my first cigarette when I was about 10 years old, so I don’t really remember not having something in my hand to smoke. I’ve used 18 mg liquid since I switched to e-cigs, and I don’t see any good reason for that to change. Nicotine is not real unhealthy compared to smoking regular cigarettes.

At this point, it doesn’t bother me to be hooked on nicotine. I have been for most of my life. Of course, if the government puts a lot of taxes and restrictions on e-cigs, I might have to rethink this.

I have started noticing that my 12mg juices are starting to bug me a little... been dripping a few drops of 0mg in my vessels (mostly whipped cream 0) to cut it back a little. Might be that I'm on the last of my wintermint that has some PG in it and that could be what's annoying my throat.

I have a good quantity of 0mg juices due to my obsession with trying every non fruit juice that exists.. from any vendor that has all VG juice. I was only a half pack a day smoker of ultra lights (the long skinny 120s) so I knew from jump start that it wasn't going to be a heavy nicotine switch.. more the oral fixation and sinus hit thing for me.. menthol was my friend

That's a valid point. I am currently at 18 mg in the morning and 12mg the rest of the day. I also have quite a few bottles of 24mg... flavors that I love, but not using. I have started to get some 6mg of these same flavors to stretch and lower the nicotine levels. We don't know at this point what will happen in our future, best be prepared as best we can.

Maybe I should also add more high dose and 0 dose nicotine liquids to my supply as well.
