What specs are you looking at? They're pretty damn close.

The LD29300 part has a 1.5V dropout compared to 1.3 on the ON semi part, but it's also rated for 5A vs 3A for the ON. Both are 5V regs with 1% accuracy and control pins in almost identical packages. For mod purposes, they're essentially interchangeable. The LK112 was just thrown in there as an example of a really small part that will also get the job done.

If you're looking for a direct replacement for the NCP5666 from ON, Mouser lists the NCP5667 as a "new" part, so that may be the intended replacement.

I was going by Mouser's product page, which shows the LD29300P2M33R is 5V 5A with a control pin. According to the spec sheet, it appears Mouser is wrong. However, the Diodes AP1184 is available in a TO263 package which is only a hair wider than the D2PAK. I double checked the spec sheet, everything is kosher.

LK112M50TR, only 100ma output but nice size
Apparantly Mouser can't be trusted for anything. Their page shows it as a 3A reg.
