I'll try to keep this as short as possible.

After being introduced to the world of E-cigs and vaping when a friend asked if I could make a box mod I had to try it out! A couple weeks back I made a 5v mod with parts I already had. It works great, but now I've been asked to help build a 3.7V box mod with parts from madvapes. The parts were ordered assuming we would be able to figure it out with the help of the diagrams and other online sources, but it appears thats not the case:blink:. The main roadblock is the use of the "D2Pak, LDO 5 volt, 3.0 amp Regulator with Control Pin".
The description says that it will work find for 3.7 mods if the control pin isnt used. To achieve this we went ahead and soldered the 2nd pin with the 1st. Anyway after a couple of hours of fiddling we've got a box thats all wired up in a non functioning manner.

I've snapped a few pictures of the box hoping someone with more electronics expertise will be able to spot the problem. We attempted to trouble shoot it with the multimeter and all the connections are good, but I just think we have the board/regulator screwed up somehow.

Here's a link to the regulator - D2Pak, LDO 5 volt, 3.0 amp Regulator with Control Pin

Here's a link to the spec sheet for it - http://www.onsemi.com/pub_link/Collateral/NCP5666-D.PDF

Thanks for any help - I would have posted to the Mod forum but I'm a noob!

Very difficult to tell from the picks man, and forgive me but it looks like you have the + wire going to the - end of battery. Again sorry for the obvious suggestion, but the pic really does look like that is going on. I'm sure you guys have flipped them around a few times.

Unless of course, that wire is leading to the other battery +.

Whoops, nevermind, I guess that's what's going on here. May help to have a pick with the batts out.

For a 3.7v mod you don't need the regulator at all. For the batteries be sure they are connected so that the + is connected to + and - to - in parallel. Then connect the - to the atty and the + to your switch, the other side of the switch to the atty center post. Connect the led in series to the resistor and then each end across the atty connections. If you want a on/off master switch, simply add it in between the batteries and one side of the atty....then...:vapor:

This way you don't have stacked batteries, and the mah of the setup will be an easy all day vape...:)
