Daily Word: Week 16

John 2:19 (KJV)
Jesus answered and said unto them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

John 2:19 baffled the Sanhedrin. How could you build a temple in 3 days. Jesus knew they wouldn't get it. I probably wouldn't have gotten it, but I would ask Him to explain. It's easier to be on this side of Jesus' sacrifice because we read and the Holy Spirit reveals to us. But these guys were never going to 'get it.' Why? Because they loved the power of their position and they didn't want to give it all up. Sad.

Matthew 7:12 - The golden rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. It's more poetic in the KJV, but easier to understand in plain English!
