Colossians 1:16 (NIV)
For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and streams on the dry ground. I will pour my Spirit on your seed, and my blessing on your offspring: and they will spring up among the grass,as willows by the watercourses.
– Isaiah 44:3-4

1 Peter 3:18 (NIV)

For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit.

She shall bring forth a son. You shall call his name Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.
– Matthew 1:21

I just love that Scripture from 1 Peter! It proves prophecy, that Jesus died for everyone.....not one race over another, not some sins over others.......even the sins for those that will never accept Him as Saviour. He died one time. Only one sacrifice.....and we, who accept Him as our personal Lord and Saviour, will be with Him forever! It just doesn't get any better than that! WHOO!! :w00t:

You're hitting alot of my favorites this week. 'Resist the devil and he shall flee.' At times when I'm tempted, that's one of the first Scriptures that comes to mind. I say it to myself until the temptation has passed. It does work.....even if you have to say it 20 times! I do love the Book of James! The one I do have some problems with is:

Profiting from Trials - James 1:1-8

2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

There are times that I'm really not able to count it all joy. As a friend pointed out to me this week, this verse reminds me of the prose: 'Footprints In The Sand.' I have to be carried ..... alot! But I do ask for wisdom. Wisdom reminds me to never pray for patience. I did that once.....won't do it again! :)

1 Peter 2:24 (NIV)
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

And hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

I must have never realized this before, duh, but I see in 1 Peter 2:24 that Jesus bore our sin 'in His body' not as a weight on His shoulders. Whoa. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Would anyone want to make a conjecture on this? Did the sin add weight inside His body? Did His heart turn dark? Was it spiritual only, not physical? Speak freely....you, too, Fishee. Welcome back to the board! Ya'll, I am very interested. What are your thoughts? :?:

    No you can't
IMO Jesus body was the vessel that held His Spirit, Jesus died Spiritually on the cross and took our sins on Him at that moment. He was separated ( cause to move or be apart. ) from God. Now we have a door open to the Father by the Blood of Jesus, those who reject the sacrifice will be separated from God for eternity.

    1 Corinthians Chapter 15

"42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."

    John 14:27 (NIV)
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.

    Colossians 3:12 (NIV)
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”

I wanted to comment on the part of the verse that God is the farmer. A farmer is in charge of his farm. He tills the soil, plants the seeds, irrigates, then harvests his crops either for family consumption or for profit......or both. He takes care of the seeds from one harvest to the next. He takes care of his family's bills. He provides for his family's needs. He makes sure all in his care is taken care of, including all animals. He is not wasteful....a good steward of what God has provided. He makes sure that his family worships God, and gives thanks for God's provision. He is head of his household works hard for his family. He is not lazy. He doesn't depend on others, except God. He knows he is responsible for his family's welfare. He is a protector. Now think of Almighty God as the farmer. Amazing, isn't it??!! :w00t:

    1 Peter 5:8 (NIV)
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Thus says the LORD who does it, the LORD who forms it to establish it; the LORD is his name: Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great things, and difficult, which you don't know.

I went to KJV as I didn't get the full impact of this verse from Jeremiah. I can remember a time when I couldn't understand King James Version.

    Jeremiah 33:2-3

    King James Version (KJV)

    2 Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; the Lord is his name;

3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

That is what I did last night. I asked the Lord to teach me something and He led to a TREASURE! He sings over you and me. AMEIN!:banana::banana:
