i haven't touched one since i started vaping and a i have a carton within arms reach of my desk that i smile at every once in awhile.
never again i whisper.

the memory of the experience is still there though.
driving down a country road on a warm summer morning with the window slightly cracked. the smell of a zippo lighter igniting a fresh cigarette. sprinkle in the aroma of freshly cut grass and a hot cup of coffee.

i don't doubt that nicotine has something to with the addiction, but for me it's those memories that made it so hard to quit.

with that description i now want to paypal you the shipping for that carton.... THANX!

LOL

The truth is there is not enough room in a post to better explain the complex nature of addiction (especially this addiction)

I think we all have a pretty clear understanding of what this addiction is... I mean really, DUH! That is why we are all here, isn't it?

Really, so perhaps you can explain to us the placement of nicotine receptors in regards to the cerbral cortex?

That makes sense in that there might be a short-term love affair which wears off for some people, and I can see how they might be reluctant to mention that.

I agree, e-cigs are different for everyone. After a while they might lose that appeal factor, just like changing analog brands...

I guess I am one of the lucky ones because I had no intention of stopping analogs, I only wanted to try the e-cig to see if I could cut back.

Within 3 days, I was completely off analogs and have never had the desire to go back and I smoked analogs for 30 years.

In 3 weeks I've gone from 30 analogs a day to 5 or 6 and I feel really good about that. And I do intend to quit analogs completely. In my case I think it might take the screwdriver to do. I do miss the consistency of the analogs. With my 901, you never know what that puff is going to be like due to the battery, atomizer, liquid, cart, etc, etc. Years ago I quit for about 8 months. I was in a bar at about the 8 month time frame with a friend who had quit for 10 years. I asked him how long it took before he didn't want one again. He looked me right in the eye and said " I want a smoke right now". Man that really depressed me. I feel confidant that I am stronger now with my new crutch, the electronic vaporizer.

i believe K already pointed out the mistake he made when he used the word fake... it was actually in reference to the people who lie by OMISSION about being analog free.. personally.. i believe i sort of fit into the category... altho i have admitted that im still smoking as well as vaping.. i have done it quietly and almost never in a thread where people are talking about the joys of quitting... i also knew that K was doing it as i'd seen the post where he ashamedly admitted so.

i shall amend my mistake by pointing out that right now i'm about to light me a camel and thouroughly enjoy it.

PS:.. they did a study a few years ago and found that 9 out of 10 men who'd tried camels.............

I agree its possibly a life long addiction for most of us.
if they ban these e-cigs then i wonder how many of us will be smoking analogs again.
i take it one day at a time and dont know if ill start smoking again tomorrow.
i dont think any of us should judge each other on if we are completely off analogs or even care what anyone thinks.
because we are all smokers or ex smokers or future smokers or ex smokers who are probably ...... off at all the anti smokers who make up negative opinions about e-cigs without knowing the facts of there safety yet.
some people just look at smoking as rebelous and will hate e-cigs no matter what.
and the world wants its tax money from tobacco and to put socialist controlling bans on everything fun anyway.
smoke,,dont smoke,,hate smokers,,whatever,,were all gonna die anyway,,lol

Hate cigarettes? I love cigarettes. For 50 years, they were my best friend. In good times and sorrowful times, in stress and celebration, marking moments to remember. Hate them? Try to find any photograph of a young Tropical Bob without his beloved cigarette.

But, in order to quit them in 2007, I had to find something to hate. And I found it:

Big Tobacco. I hated the chemical manipulation they did to a fine plant in order to produce a product they knew would kill many who used it, yet thoroughly addict nearly all who used it. They lied to Congress. They lied to me. And you. And then, when they lost lawsuits brought by those grieving dead smokers, they just jacked up the product price addicts must pay to silence the screams in their brains every half hour. Did Big Tobacco suffer monetary damages? Not a chance. Did you and I? Yes, and I hated them for it.

So each time a craving for a cigarette hits -- and it's multiple times every day for me -- I remind myself that I will never again enrich the lying killers incorporated as Big Tobacco. And, because I use snus, it saddened me greatly that our giant killing corporations are now buying up the smokeless product makers. Please, Lord, keep them far, far away from e-smoking.
