Hi all;
Just thought I would share a way I've discovered to reduce the risk of children and pets getting poisoned by any e-liquid they may find.
To the best of my knowledge, e-liquid doesn't come with childproof caps. Neither do the plastic bottles you can order to store and mix it in.
Some dogs (like mine) want to chew whatever they can get their paws on! So I went out and bought a small metal lock-box at Walmart to secure my liquid.
I use the clear plastic childproof aspirin bottles to store my e-liquid so I can see at a glance how much I have on hand, or need to order. I also use my childproof empty medicine bottles (without the sticky label) to store my used carts/attys until I can clean them. The bottles are easy to label with an indelible marker, and small enough for travel.
You can even measure how much liquid you put in there with the plastic dose "spoons" that come with most children's medicines. Or the measuring cap from a bottle of NyQuil. I label my bottles with each measured amount, in increments just like a measuring cup. You can use an eye dropper or syringe to draw out the liquid when filling your carts.
Beforehand, I thoroughly wash each bottle with hot soapy water, and let it drip dry. In no time they are dry and ready to fill with your favorite liquid.
This is a simple solution that can give us vapers a little more peace of mind.
