As a nurse I can tell you he has it backwards. Analogs cause hypoxia. Blood cells would rather grab onto and hold onto carbon monoxide, burnt tobacco, than oxygen all day long. That means when you smoke analogs there is less oxygen circulating in the blood. Thats why peolple who suffer smoke inhalation are sent to hyperbaric chmabers to try to force to oxygen back into the blood cells.

Vaping turned me into a newt..........
I thought you got better?

Alright you two, you leave me no choice...... "Ni!"
This is a very serious topic about a dangerous health condition, such levity is entirely inappropriate. Now that we know vaping will not cause embolism, I will try to get back to work on incorporating a cartomizer into a scuba regulator, hopefully without further interruption.

But I will be keeping an eye on this thread. And make no mistake... We will say "Ni!" again to you, if you do not appease us.

;) ;) ;)

Hey everybody, Monkey here, aka a Registered Respiratory Therapist. This thread is pretty much my bread and butter since I deal with hypoxic patients all day:). As far as Hypoxia, it is actually low o2 in the tissues vs. hypoxemia which is low o2 in the blood. Vaping in no way shape or form can cause either. Analogs on the other hand could(hypoxemia), which is also quite difficult to accomplish smoking analogs. As far as air bubbles probably not, unless, you have a subcutaneous embolism, but that would require an open wound and enough air to shoved under the skin(also very hard to accomplish).

Your pt. is just talking out of his rear, and if he knew anything about it, he would have been able to expand on his uneducated statement. But then again pt's will say anything to keep you in a room just so they have someone to talk to.
