I ordered my first couple rba's. I am going to dabble around with making sub ohm coils. Is there anything I should be concerned about when using these on either a Reo, or a Silver bullet (with or without a KICK). I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing with RBA's so I'm going to watch some different builds and see what I like. I have an ohm checker on the way from fasttech as we speak.

What is the amp limit on those batteries? Really the most important safety info to have. Do you have a way to check resistance of the coils you build? If not, get a multimeter or way to check your coils. If you over strain your battery it can vent poison chemicals or burst into flames so its important to know what your doin.

To calculate amps just divide your voltage by your ohms. Your battery's amp should exceed the amps of your setup. On my phone so cant get all into it but research everything I just said please

What do you mean "exceed the amps of my setup"?

I divide my hypothetical .7 ohm coil by 3.7. How do I know if it is higher or lower than the amps of my "setup"? How do I calculate the amps of my setup?

Study the below links BEFORE you get started. I highly recommend making and perfecting standard resistance coils BEFORE attempting sub-ohm coils. You've got a LOT of homework to do before getting started.

Reread my post dude. I said if you overstrain your "battery". And to find amps you divide voltage by ohms, not the other way around. So 4.2÷.7=6 amps.

You have to know the amp limit (continuous discharge rate in amps) of your batteries. The amp limits of the most common/recommended high drain batteries are listed in the Battery Basics for Mods blog linked above.

When you measure your coil's resistance (ohms) with a digital multimeter or ohm meter, and factor in the battery voltage (4.2 volts) in the Ohm's Law Calculator, it will provide you the figure (current = amp draw) of what the coil will draw from your battery. That figure should be less than the continuous discharge rate (amps) of your battery. This is critical and should not be exceeded. In fact, you should leave a wide margin of safety.

I currently have 2 e-fest 18650 IMR batteries.

These batteries have a 10 amp limit. Do not exceed a 10 amp current draw from your coil. If you ever decide to go lower than 0.8 ohm, I recommend getting an IMR or hybrid battery with 20 - 30 amps.

I just got my first Reo Grand. If you check on the Reo forum, I believe you need to stay at .8ohms or above until they get the sub ohm upgrade. There are lots of sub ohmers on that forum and they can advise you exactly on the Reo sub ohming.

Also mah has nothing to do with amp draw capability.

Just saw u have a meter on the way. Good move. Wait till it gets here to get started dude

C rating is a multiplier of mAh. 1500 mAh with c rating of 6 makes it a 9000 milli amp current rating, or 9.0 amps. (mAh * C) / 1000.

Sorry man I misread that post. You got it backwards here. Not trying to make this more confusing.

I'm not trying to be difficult I just want to make sure I have my bases covered here. 3.7V divided by the .7Ohm coil. As long as the OHMS of my coil agrees with the chart posted on page 1 I should be "safe" to vape on my kicked SB? To be safe let's say I will not go below .9 or 1.0 ohms.

Your Efest batteries should be able to handle a 0.8 ohm or higher coil safely. Go lower than that, get some higher amp batteries.
