We were in LA last night for a show and stopped at Nana's vape shop on Venice. One of the samples I tried was Dark Side of the Moon and I bought a bottle. When I opened it later that night and dripped it, it had an overwhelmingly perfumey taste and smell and I spent the rest of the evening trying to get it out of my dripper, but the perfume was still there under anything else I vaped. This morning I tried it again with fresh wicking and it's still unvapeable. My boyfriend can't handle it either.

It's batch 082113. I didn't get this at all from the sample - is this a bad batch, is it just me, or is there something I can do? We only have a couple of other VV flavors but neither of them were anything like this. I really want to like this. Thanks. :)

ETA: For now I've got the dropper out and I'm letting it sit open.. maybe whatever it is will evaporate off?

I have read baking soda helps clean strong perfume type flavors from most attys. best i can offer is...

+1 on above post.
you'll also want to clean the o-rings. those suckers will trap scents even more than the metal will. gently pry them off with a syringe needle or similar. soak in some type of alcohol or make a deodorizing mixture to soak in. to make a deodorizing mixture, mix 4 tablespoons of baking soda in 1 quart of warm water. this mixture will also help to rid old bottles of a lingering scent. helps if you DIY or something of the sort.

I read a lot and run across many different ways people do things. Baking soda is one of the top in cleaning odors out, I am unable to find you a link to another (if i kept links to everything I read I would need another drive just for links LOL). In that one someone had very harsh odor that 2 days soaking in baking soda did not clear out, they used Baileys Irish cream and were happy with the results (I am not a drinker but I imagine it would limit juice selection later on). It sticks in my head as the oddest thing I have seen done to an atty.

best of luck to you.

EDIT: Sorry I cannot address your concern with the liquid in question, but I feel sure someone will soon.

Coelli, I'll have someone check the batch Monday but it may be that you are smelling the organic ethyl alcohol content or that it is not as fully steeped as the sample you tried. Just a guess since I can't know for sure without seeing it. Try steeping with the cap off to let a bit of the organic ethyl alcohol content evaporate off. I can't taste or smell it myself (not a whiff!) but I know some customers are very sensitive to it and they report that this usually does the trick. The tobacco flavors are quite strong and tend to stick around in a carto or on a wick so I do recommend you keep a separate one for tobacco flavors as they don't necessarily mix well with others! Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply, Annette, I am hopeful it's something like that because the sample (in a carto, and might have been there a while) didn't have this issue at all. :) We do have a couple of your other flavors and they were fine! I drip, so it's not too hard to clean out. I just couldn't last night because we were at a club. Thanks again!

I am not one to give much to the reviews found on a site selling an item, they help, but you never really know if the negative ones are being edited out. I have spent near an hour searching the internet for this flavor and it appears that those who like it LOVE it, and those who don't REALLY HATE it. But what hits me as odd is that you enjoyed it as a sample, yet the new purchase was much different.

I have only purchased 11 different flavors so far and my choice of the ones I have is Peanut Butter Banana sandwich. To me this is a great vape (even though I will likely never inhale it) but I find shaking it a few times a day helps greatly and really brings the flavor out. There have been a couple I kinda liked and I followed a suggestion I read sometime ago and tried a warm water bath and vigorous shake. The result notable, but it does all but destroy the label, but white fingernail polish on dark glass will mark it well

Anyway, I hope your issue is addressed soon, this would be one to add to my mental note list.

EDIT: did not refresh page to notice you had your response and from the big boss herself (kneels before she who is great).
