I'm totally new to this and just getting used to using my taps talk so sorry if this is been addressed, but I just now got my DAV and for the first hour the hits always seem really harsh than it mellows out quite nicely, what am I doing wrong, I have been dry hitting and letting it rest before I start.

Usually when you get a harsh hit it's either because not enough juice is getting to the coil or the voltage is set too high.

You didn't mention the delivery device you are using - but just start them off at a lower voltage. If they have the wicks visible inside the clearo, try twirling them around so the wicks get nice and saturated with juice.
If they have tiny wicks at the bottom of the clearo, then you should be able to just adjust the hit by lowering the voltage a little.

Most clearos do work on a vacuum principle, so as you use them and burn off juice, it sucks more in to fill the juice burned off. There is a slight break in period for most coil heads too.
