It's day 2....

The battery lasted a looong time yesterday. I started using it at 3:00pm, vapor started slacking off a little about 2:00am. Took it out about 4:00am but it would have gone longer. I needed to go to bed however. I put it on charge this morning, took 3 hours to turn green. I probably will switch out sooner from now on but I wanted to see what it would do. YMMV depending on how much juice you suck down. I usually use about 2ml a day and that's what I used yesterday.

I am very happy with the 14500 batteries so far but I realize they are new so I won't expect these time frames forever. My only prior experience was standard 901 batts and 10440s. I usually got 2 to 2.5 hours with the 901s. The 10440s were very disappointing to me. They would last 3 to 4 hours but performance dropped quickly after about the first hour or so. I've heard others get much longer times from the 10440s so I'm not sure if it's a quality control issue or just vaping style issues.

I have found that I like to use my finger with the button facing up. I really thought I would use it the other way, button down using my thumb. I'd be curious to know what y'all end up preferring. I really like the switch. It feels very sturdy and it just works every time.

I did lose a 901 atty this morning but I am in no way blaming the Protege. It was brand new yesterday and worked fine all day. It worked fine this morning for awhile, then nothing. Pushed the button once, just fine... push it again and nada. I put an old one on making no adjustments whatsoever and it's been fine for hours now. Fairly certain it wasn't user error either as my cart & atty were plenty moist and I don't take extremely long draws. Oh, if only I was smart enough to make a better atty. I would become an overnight millionaire. :D

I'm still using the same battery I put in at 8:00am this morning. So, what's that, about 6 hours. Still going strong. Nice consistent vape on an atty that I had almost given up on using it in another device.

Anyone sitting on the fence about the purchase of a Protege... jump down NOW and hit the buy button. You won't be sorry. :)

Edit: Thought I should point out that the 901 atty I lost this morning did not come from PureSmoker. Anybody that has vaped for awhile knows all these attys are just a crap shoot. You may get one to last a month or it could just as easily quit in a day.

No Kimmberlee I don't have the Prodigy. I never felt the need to try 5v and certainly won't now that I know what 3.7v is capable of. I realize some people either need or want the huge throat hit, I don't. We all have our preferences, there is no right or wrong. Please 5v lovers, don't flame me !!!!

I also have very small hands. Not as small as the guy on the Burger King commercial, but small. LOL While the size feels great in my small hand, I feel certain that bigger hands will find it very comfortable as well.

If you are having trouble with the thought of 3.7v you might try the 510. That is what Steve says he uses on the Protege and is just fine with it. And if you're in the mood for a smoother, more relaxing vape, this may be the ticket.

I ordered the 510 myself, and I am happy that the batteries are lasting as they are. I was worried with only having 2 batteries, because I normally have LONG days out of the house. My worse fear was having the batteries die before the day was finished, although I think with those times I should be just fine. I normally go through around 3-4ml a day though, in which case I will not expect the same times as you; but I shouldn't be to far behind.

Now if I can just have the fast forward button to life so that next week will come sooner... I'll be even better =)

Wow, that is good news on battery life. I'm waiting for mine to charge fully now (and had already received replacement batts before the Protege arrived -- always be prepared).

My very limited experience (just a few hits with the small charge in the battery as it arrived) is good. The flavor is still all there, and I'd been wanting a little less throat hit than the Prodigy gives; had realized I was actually blocking it some with my tongue, when I tried vaping a regular Joye-510 last week and got meh. I had to figure out how to re-open my throat!

This is a really elegant PV. While waiting for the batteries to fully charge, I can just LOOK at it and be pretty darn happy. Now, please, nobody invent anything better! 901 to 510 to Prodigy to Protege... that's enough, now.
