Ok so now we have "Triple COil" Cartoz and they are 1.5 ohms , the MFG recommends that you run them at 6 volts ,

I am going to explain the effects that they will have on a battery or controller system like the Buzz Pro .

First we need to understand Parallel resistance , it is a formula r1+r2+r3 / r1xr2xr3 = total resistance so what happens is they lower the overall resistance of the group so a 3 coil carto at 1.5 ohms has 3 4.5 ohm coils in it to get 1.5 ohms total.

We are ready know that a single coil likes about 8 watts of power for a great vape , on a 4.5 ohm coil this would require 6 volts and 1.6666 amps ( the voltage the MFG recommends ! BTW ! ) now when you put these coils in Parallel they all want 8 watts or 6 volts so triple these numbers 8x3=24 watts and 4 amps ! .

The effects on your batteries , a standard Li-Ion battery has a MAX drain current rating , it is rated as a " C " number the batteries we use ( 16340 880 mah ) are rated at 2.5C so 2.5 x .880 = 2.2 amps of drain current . So you can see that 4 amps is almost DOUBLE of the rated specs for this battery.

Now the Buzz Pro and many other Regulated devices have current limits on them ( this is due to the regulator ! ) the Pro series will handle up to about 3 amps in peaks ( not constant ) and are rated for 2 amps all day long , this is why the Pro units will shut down around 4.6 volts on a 1.5 ohm atty/carto ( 3 amps ) this will NOT HURT your BUZZ PRO !!! it is protected from these situations and will shut itself down when there are bad conditions like this .

I hope this makes sense , I tried to make it clear in laymans terms .

Just trying to keep us from having fun :) I still can't wrap my head around why anyone would want to vape 24W -- net, 24W of heat is 24W, that's a heck of a lot of juice being cooked. Thanks, as always, for trying to make your PVs idiot proof, though always remember there's a vast supply of us :)

Well Mike they made so much money on dual coils and what sells better than dual? Triple so I guess their whole plan is to get all the money they can while they can plus if they're selling batteries that's even more money. I have to say they're not dummies. I wished I thought like they did but I just can't bring myself to that level of it all. Besides I was thinking about a quad coil but whats even better than that? Dual Quads. LOL

Mike you are really good at explaining things :) Thanks for that. I like my Dual Coils but have no interest in the 3 coil lol I like to use my DCs between 3.7 and 4.2V on my Buzz. It does cut the battery charge time down but for me it is worth it for the flavor and TH that I get. :)

FYI 4 volts at 1.5 ohms = 2.6 amps and 10 watts so no big deal.
