Okay, I bought a 3.5ml DCT a while back and stuck it on my eGo battery not expecting much as I hate carto taste. No carto taste and the darn thing was awsome, I could get lost in the vapor. It of course wore out and I ordered a new DCT and some replacement cartos at 2 ohm (I did not know the ohm of my original one). These are definitely preforming sub par and you almost pre cook for a couple seconds just to get a decent hit. Did I get the wrong ohms...looking back I think my original was 1.5 ohm. I ordered some 1.5's and think I may ditch these 2 ohm ones. I am planning on building a 5v box with a PRT8100w, should I save them for that?

Thanks,

Ron -

I've been having horrid experiences with my smoketek DCTs.. I know, Ego and DCT aren't a good match, but the carto they shipped with work wonderfully. All good things come to an end, and these things eventually die. Any of the replacements I've tried have been terrible. I have LR's and SR's (prepunched), tried slotting (1 and 2 slot), making the holes larger, going up to 4.8v (twist), nothing is getting them close to the original ones (and they aren't flooding from expanded holes). Get the carto nice n wet (figured I could at least try to see if I can get a hit without the tank) and same deal.

The draw on the cartos is so airy and loose it's pointless to try, just irritates my throat with barely any vape (though I do prefer a tighter draw, this is beyond the usual looseness). Out of the pack they're loose, screwed in they're loose, they're just not working. Thought it was maybe a one off, but went through 4 cartos (2*LR/SR) yesterday trying to get them to work. Finally gave up and am on my last clearo, keeping my drip 'mizer on hand just in case it fails. Even my original 808 mini is outperforming these things.

Watching reviews online and what I am experiencing is nothing like the nice vapes I'm watching (beyond the first carto it ships w/)

Now I am staring at 6 cartos and 2 tanks and I don't think I'm going to bother opening the rest just to find one good one. I ordered some new Boge F16s, haven't been able to find any reviews on them but I'm hoping they hold up to the Boge name. Maybe there was a bad batch from factory, but I am not spending more money to find out. I'll be avoiding smoketek products from now on.

On the plus side, someone at the next meet will have the chance to get a couple tanks and cartos for free if they want, just going to be collecting dust here.

I found that my Vivinova works best on all of my batteries with a 1.8 ohm. For a good idea of what volts and ohms mean here is a good chart.

If you have xl here is a spread sheet that will calculate watts or the proper mix of volts and ohms to get the desired wattage. That is usually between 4-8 watts. To high you burn the juice and get a bad TH also shortens the life of the atty and my harm your battery over time. TO low and you don't get a good vapor..

Here is the spreadsheet.

Hope this helps.
