So I finally ordered the provari last night. Thanks for the great info!

Now I ended up picking up some SR Boge cartos from electronics tix.com and a J-Tank as well.

Thing is I also ordered some DCT tanks by smoktech from Provape.com with the small punched hole cartos. Has anyone used these? I've watched some reviews about them on various sites and people are saying they tend to dry hit and not wick well. I'm mostly using high PG Dekang liquid. Normally on my 808 cartos I fill them up followed by some taryn spins.

With these 501 cartos from smoktech if I drip them enough followed by filling the tank properly with the high PG liquid should I be having any problems?

In the end I will be buying Boge cartos with a bigger hole or punching them myself, but want to get the most use of these DCT tanks and cartos as possible.

I'm not 100% sure because I've been using thicker liquids in my tanks, but I'd say that the small prepunched holes should be alright for high PG liquids. From what I've read though, VG doesn't always mean "thicker than PG". It can depend a lot on the other ingredients and flavoring used in the juice. But if it's a thinner liquid, you should be fine. You can always prime the carto in the tank by taking a few sharp draws on it without firing the mod.

What type of cartos are you using? Just curious.

Among other tanks I use the Smoktech carto tanks. I use the smoktech prepunched cartos, 1 hole and my juice mix is 50/50. I have no problems at all with 'dry hits'. Fill the tank, drip some carefully into the carto itself. Seat the carto and let the tank sit a bit. Take a few hits without firing the batt and you're good to go.

Agreed.
I bought the DCT when I ordered my Mini. For thinner liquids its worked fine as is, for thicker (including Boba's which is about as thick as they come), I widened the existing hole and punched another on the opposing sides, no problems since.
IF by some chance you do have any wicking problems with thick liquid, many have had success using a rotary tool to cut small slots in place of the holes with good success. Regardless, I'd follow you're current cart filling method, fill up the tank, and adjust as needed.
My only other advice is to be careful of 2 things if you widen the hole, or punch new.
1 - Be careful not to distort the tube of the carto or the tank will have a difficult time sliding on. Sharp object and quick blows with the hammer are key for me. I personally use a small sheetrock screw, they have a nice sharp point.
2 - Be careful no to go too far inside, if you puncture the inner tube where the coil is and air draws thru, it will flood.

Hope this helps!

I use DCTs with 3 punched carto's, I've had a few that wouldn't wick, and one that flooded using 33/77 juice, but that was just 3 carto's out of like 40.. I hate dripping unless I'm trying out new liquids, so these tanks are perfect for me. Only other thing I may use is clearomizers, but my GLV pops them.

Yea I need to go by my local hardware store and pick up one of those saddle valves.

Btw, since using these dct tanks or really any similar tank, do you guys just wash the tank once a week with warm water? Just curious if there is any discoloration from darker juices. Not a big deal though.
