[RANT] I got a couple stardusts a few weeks ago and absolutely loved them, but both (a lr and a sr) decided that this week was the week they'd crap out. I don't know how to explain it, but they both started vaping with a really gross burnt plastic kinda electrical fire taste. I rinsed and dry burned, refilled, same thing. Then I took it completely apart, soaked the whole thing, dry burned and reassembled and got maybe a day out of it before it went super nasty again.

Anyway, more of a rant than anything, because I spent almost all day ripping these things apart cleaning and reassembling them trying to get them back working, plus I was kinda hoping to get a little longer life. Oh well, thankfully I have a few cartos kicking around I can use (let this be a lesson to newbs like myself, have plenty of spares!).

And kudos to rockinrobbie for the great disassembly videos :)

(ps: cranberry champagne just isn't the same in a boge as it is in the stardust)

Too bad they aren't lasting so long for you.
The older they get they require more frequent cleanings/rinsings
and dryburnings.(At least that's what I've found)

Daily is probably a good idea to keep them tip top longer
as they get longer in the tooth.

I'm a Vanilla junkie myself, but...

The Cranberry Champagne sounds like something I'm going to have to try.
Maybe try a DIY for something to do.

Well, I did take them out fishing, and I noticed that sitting in the sun all day made the ultimate vanilla dark and gummy, so that may have something to do with it (even though I vaped the rest of the tank). Doesn't explain what happened to the one filled with cranberry, other than it was LR and I've been vaping that heavily at 4v or so. Ah well, I ordered more though, the flavour out of them was amazing.

As for the cranberry champagne, I LOVE it. In a LR stardust @ 3.7, the flavour was fantastic - a tad sweet with a bit of tang, and even at 12mg it had a decent throat hit. A good chainvape juice. I use that when I want to lay off the vanilla - I got it at 24, and its good for a quick hit with the morning coffee, but chainvaping that makes me want to swing from the ceilings! :) Any suggestions for another good vanilla?

at $5-6 for new ones is it worth the investment in time trying to rebuild and clean these things? You said you spent all day and I don't know how many you were working on, but it seems excessive.

I'm interested because I've just ordered a handful to try myself.

Well, I did rebuild my LR about 6 times in the span of a few hours trying to figure out what was giving me that horrid taste. Honestly, I wouldn't bother again. The next time it happens, I'll just rinse, dry burn and if it still tastes like crap I'll probably just chuck it. Honestly its a pain in the ....

Anyway, I got 5 more LR on order and a few extreme visions LR to try plus a handfull of boge LRs to refill my "omg my stardust died and I dont feel like dripping" stash. :)

I think that'll hold me off for a while until I save up some $$ to buy a lavatube and a tank... either that or I win loto max and get a vmax.

Underneath the coil is a silicon sleeve. next time it's apart try pulling up on the coil a little. It may be hitting the silicon. There's good info here. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/atomizer-mods/263355-gotvapes-stardust-how-re-wick-replace-coil.html (Just in case you accidentally pull too much)

I also can get the nasty taste at high wattage.

Yeah I watched that video a few times. If you look at 9:25 or so, where he is putting the wick back on with the silicone sleeve, its VERY close. I followed the exact same process. Anyway, I took another look at it but I pulled the coil way up from the silicone (I'd say like 4mm) then let that silicone cap spike thingie push the wick down a bit. Still nasty. It was worth a shot though :)
