I have replaced the liquid in my Reo (I went from Root Beer to Pear) and I am still tasting root beer. The juices were in two different bottles so that is not the issue. I rinsed out the device as well as the bottle cap and I blew out the tubing via the 510 connection. Any ideas on how to get rid of the root beer flavor that is still persisting in the reo? It even still smells like Root Beer...

I don't have Vodka or other types of clear alcohol to use. Can I use rubbing alcohol? I am worried if I have flavor ghosting I will end up vaping what ever it is I use to clean it with. I cleaned out my RM2 well as well as the o Ring for the RM2. I took the cap piece off of the tubing as well and rinsed that well...The issue has to be with the tubing. I filled my empty bottle that holds the juice with hot water and squonked two bottles worth through the tubing. I think I need something stronger but as I said before I am worried that if my rootbeer flavor is sticking around the rubbing alcohol or whatever it is I will end up using will also stick around.

I have a bottle, tubing, and cap designated as Gorilla Juice (actually I usually use it on one Reo). Do you have a spare cap/tube? I wouldn't use rubbing alcohol - that stuff is not for breathing/drinking LOL Try baking soda if you don't have another tube/cap, maybe? Or on my other setups I will soak in a denture tablet cleaner, then rinse well (not the minty ones).

I use rubbing alcohol with no ill effects, I fill a bottle and squonk it through then I reload and burn off a couple of hits and then no funky flavor, once I cleaned bottles with some weird organic dish detergent and it was the only thing that would get the funk out

It will dry off pretty fast just make sure to squonk the first couple and burn it without inhaling and the alcohol will be gone

If you are using an RM2, it can hold a little bit of residual juice around and under the ceramic base. A good flushing and/or soaking in water overnight should clear it. Some juices are real stubborn though. Most of mine are in a similar vein and play nice together, I don't change anything but the bottle. If you have 2 favourite juices that don't play nice, maybe 2 Reo's? ;)

I've only had this problem once and that was with a pretty potent peppermint flavor....it completely cancelled every flavor I put in after it! What I did was boil the bottle, tube, bottle cap, O ring, and RM2. I did 5 rounds of boiling (2 for the RM2) and the Mini itself was washed out in hot water with a couple drops of dish detergent after gutting out the rest of its innards. About 2 hours later the peppermint conceded defeat! It's a shame though 'cuz I really enjoyed that flavor, but there's gonna have to be a dedicated set up for that bad boy!!!

This flavor creep, "ghosting" as it were, is something I'm concerned about happening also. My ADV right now is a DIY TFA peach and pear I learned from Bill's Magic Vapor, but until the day comes that I get another REO, I know I'll swap juices periodically.

Before y'all say "just get another REO", I gotta get my first one in first!

Unless you have an exceptionally strong flavor it will subside after vaping the new flavor for a while. And a good thorough cleaning soaking will do the trick also.

I like to vape about 5 different flavors daily. So until I have 4 or 5 Reos, lol, I will still use some other pvs - systems to vape the different flavors and keep my Reos to dedicated flavors and not be changing flavors in them often. At least that's the plan.

I don't think you will EVER get the flavor ghosting out of it. You should just send your REO to me....:p

Like everybody is saying, disassemble everything, boil, use alcohol, or just order some extra bottles.

The extra bottles are not the issue. The bottle I am using the pear in is a completely different bottle than I the one I had the Root Beer in.
