It's pretty cold out right now and when I've used my clearo (aspire mini bdc) it seemed to work fine outside but once I came back in and set it down for about 10 minutes and then went to use it, it was completely flooded. This happened two other times and I thought ok, no more outside vaping when it's this cold. I'm not sure if this is just with the aspire or is it something all bottom coils would suffer from. Other cold days this didn't happen but yesterday was particularly cold.

I"m guessing top coils wouldn't suffer from this, but wanted to confirm. If so, I may grab a top coil model.

Also this is my first year vaping and haven't gone through a summer yet. Are there any concerns not only for the tank but the battery as well? I'm picturing those really hot humid days and vaping in the sun.

Haven't used top coils in a long time, either. It does seem that they'd be less susceptible to it, unless really full.

As the liquid warms up, it will expand and create a slightly high pressure in the tank, and that's what pushes the liquid out.

One important thing for hot weather - do NOT leave batteries in a hot car.

No, don't have to worry about vaping in the sun. But temps inside a car in the sun can easily rise to unsafe levels for "storage." It becomes, quite literally, a solar oven.

And while the juice may thin from high temps, it's more to do with the increased pressure inside the tube. That increase can overwhelm the surface tension of the juice on the wick/coil, and it has to go somewhere. Usually onto the battery connection.

Bottom coils don't seem to like temperature changes. Something I've wondered about, but haven't tried, is carrying them upside down, so maybe air pressure would have a chance to equalize without pushing liquid out through the wick area.

I haven't had any trouble using a top coil iclear 16 or a carto tank in the cold.
