you realize that good juice makers are kinda like chefs, right?
why would a chef want to give out his secrets? the pg/vg ratios change the way a juice tastes. if people give out the ratios, then it's easier for others to copy/replicate the recipe.
i mean.....would you open up a restaurant with a special dish, but then tell everyone the secret ingredient??
Your Honor, counsel is leading the witness... The way the two questions are framed---using the word "secret" in both---is a dead giveaway to the desired answers.
Look, if some restaurant chef has a lasagna recipe with a secret ingredient, I don't ask for the secret (or care, for that matter). All I want to know is that it's
lasagna. Similarly, if an eliquid was created with 13 different vanillas, I don't need to know them all by name, source, and percentage ratios. I just want to know that the juice has vanilla in it.
One new vendor---OpenSourceVapor---has a limited line of all-organic and PG-free liquids and publishes not only a description, but also the precise recipe for each liquid on its respective product page. Here's the recipe for their Mocha liquid:
For tank,
0.54% Organic chocolate flavor
0.3% Organic coffee flavor
0.24% Organic vanilla flavor
0.12% Organic caramel flavor
0.8% Organic white vinegar
5% Organic Rebaudioside-A (sweetener) / VG (60mg/mL)
6% Sterile saline (0.9%NaCl soln.)
12.5% Ultra-distilled Penta water
Nicotine
Vegetable Glycerin
Even with the recipe, however, I couldn't replicate their Mocha liquid, because I don't know the source of the organic flavorings used, and that makes all the difference. By the way, I'm not shilling for OpenSourceVapor; I haven't had any of their juices. What they're doing with (almost) full disclosure, however, seems to me a significant development in the retail eliquid marketplace. I'm definitely in favor of greater transparency.
