Death of an Atty?

So I've had a 510 atty for about two weeks now.. great vapor on it. So today I'm vaping away and when I go to drip in it, I see a black fleck down there..so I pick it out. vape for a few puffs then zip, nada, no vape, no heat.
OPen it up and theres another black fleck in there..
Is this how atty's die? Never had one stop working before. My RN atty is a month old and still kicking. This atty is only two weeks old, but its been my main atty for all day use.
So is this how long they last on a 510? Is this how they die?

I guess they last longer if you don't pull anything out of them. I never do anything with mine except use them. No cleaning, no draining, no picking stuff out of them. You may have plucked the coil wire loose. What's a "fleck"?

It looked like a black paint chip.. It wasn't there before, so no idea where it came from....
I don't do any of that stuff either, just vape. I rinsed it out one because I bought a juice that just sucked. Other than that it was normal usage, no pulling anything out. And the lfeck was there one minute to the next. I have to think it was soething from inside the atty.
Weird.
Thank God I had just recieved a back up atty, but at this rate I better get a whole bunch more!

they don't have a set lifespan although most last longer...........always have backups and not just one. (anything is possible)

an ohms meter will tell you if it's dead or not

If you're dripping, that's another can of worms. You're atty may not be dead. You may have flooded the battery. Once you start doing things to an e-cig that it was not meant to do, anything could happen.
