With the bridge, generally you're getting your juice to soak into the metal mesh, which eventually contacts the wick and that's what pulls it through the coils.

Debridged, you're dripping right on to the atomizer, which absorbs into the wick.

Basically, just allows you to saturate the coil directly, which should give a better vape, and also makes switching flavors more painless IMO because the mix starts with much more of your *new* flavor instead of phasing it in through the absorption process.
