Hey guys
I've been reading the forum for a while. Lots of info, much appreciated.
I've decided that I should quit smoking analogs because of the birth of my first daughter and I've decided to get an Ego-C.
Since I'm new to this I really think that I'll like the tank system for the ease of use. So, I have a pair of questions:

- Is this Ego-C HOT NEW Ovale Style EGO-C - tornado- with replaceable inner atomizer And 5 atomizers PLUS 5 click safety FREE SHIPPING WORLD WIDE (Auction ID: 101771, End Time : Nov. 30, 2012 15:29:39) - Vapor Hawk - Cheapest Electronic Cigarettes on the Net the same as this one: AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | eGo-C Starter Kit - Joye

- Is VaporHawk a reliable seller?

- What kind of juice suits the tank system better (PG/VG/mix) ?

- I'm interested in trying the cartomizer system also. If I get the Ego-C , is this the only part I need to buy to try the cartos? AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | eGo Mega Dual Coil Clear Cartomizer

Thanks in advance for your time

Sebastian

I know altsmoke is a reliable seller. I'd trust them. That's where I got my Baby Bullet (BB) a couple years ago. Never heard of Vaporhawk. I don't know what their shipping policy to Chile is though. I'd be wary of VaporHawk. Have you checked the vendor list here on ECF? ALL of them are good vendors. They all have sub-forums here so you can ask questions, etc. They keep a pretty tight rein on the approved vendors here on ECF. I use many of them and I'd trust any of them.

For use without a tank, any cartomizer from Boge or Smoketek is good. I'm not sure what altsmoke carries. There is a horizontal coil carto from Klanger(?) that has been getting a lot of love as well. Any ohms between 1.5 to 3 will work fine. The lower the ohms, the hotter the coil will burn, so you might want to try a range of resistance. Boge is known for being sturdy and good for beginners, but I'm not sure if they have one under 3 ohms and that might be a little on the cool side. You'll probably be happy with something between 2.4 and 2.8 or 2.9 ohms. Personally, I like 2.5-2.7 for 3.7Volts. If your Ego is 3.6 volt, you may want to stick to the low side of that. If you want pre-punched cartos for a tank, you'll be limited in your selection unless you're willing to punch your own holes and you'll want to go with 1.5 to 2.0 ohms. For a tank, there is a Smoketek carto at 1.7ohms called the resurrector that has a good reputation, though I've never used it. I'd avoid dual coil cartos whether for a tank or not.

I use a 70%pg/30%vg with my Ego-c and it works very well. For carto's thats a tough question, some like the Dual Coil carto's other like single coil, I like the single coils better myself. Then the have differant Ohm's and my thought is to use no lower than 2 Ohm's and it might be better to use 2.5 to 3.0 Ohm's to make your battery last longer between charges. You will need to try some different carto's to see what you like. One carto that seems very popular is the Boge carto. The carto's have a wicking materiel in them that you must keep moist or it will burn inside and give a terrible taste and then you throw it out. Whats nice about the C and refillable tank is that it has no filler inside to burn. After awhile the C will just not perform like it should and you need to take it apart and do a dry burn on the coil, or just replace the little coil unit with a new one. They do work great. Hope this helps.

If you would like to try regular(with filler) 510 type cartomizers on your ego you may need an optional ego-510 adapter.

Someone that has an ego c would be better able to confirm if the adapter is in fact needed.

I like my low resistance dual coil cartos (L.R. DCC's) good TH and lots of vapor.
You would be better to include the 1000mah w pass-through batteries in your kit
if you choose to use them though. The bigger mah battery will mean less charging
for you also. The pass-through will allow you to vape and charge at the same time.
650's are a little anaemic I hear.:2c:

Cheers Hitme:vapor::vapor:

Keep in mind that when I was referring to a tank, I wasn't talking about the ego tank system. I'm not sure how that works. I was referring to a regular tank like Smoketeks DCT. Definitely get the 1000mah battery though, especially if you want to try the dual coil cartos. The problems I've heard about weak vaping on a dual coil were from ego users with the small 650mah battery. I know that the dual coils put more drain on any battery.

To be honest, if you have to use an adapter just to use a regular old 510 carto, I personally wouldn't buy that particular unit in the first place.

I have ego-t from Vaporhawk and it works well. So far, no leaking. Just get soft silicone caps for 9$ (50pcs) and forget about any leaking I .don't know how about ego-c.
I used the eGo-t carto's for 4 months and gave up on them, they are too expensive to replace. That is why I now use the eGo-c with the replaceable coil assembly, much cheaper in the long run to just replace with the little coil insert, and your back in business. With the T you have to buy the whole unit. So like I said the C is more economical to use.

If I could get them for that price here in the U.S. I would get them. I don't want to order out of the country because shipping is so expensive. The Ego-T's cost from 8 to 12 Dollars here. I can get replacement atty's for the Ego-c for less than 5 dollars and they last longer than the Ego-t. Your English is just fine, I am glad you posted. Thanks

Thanks again for all the replies. Friendly forum, love it!
So.. I'm going with altsmoke and for now I'm gonna be using the tanks provided with the Ego-C.
I have another couple of questions:

- Currently I'm smoking a pack of analogs per day. I'm smoking Kent 4 (ultra, 0.4 mg nicotine). Should I order a 6mg nicotine juice?
- The other thing I'm concerned about is how often do I have to change (aprox) the atomizer head in the Ego-C. I don't want exact number of days, just an estimate. Since I have to buy them in the states and I live in Chile I would like to make an order that will last at least for a month and a half or 2.

Thanks again for all your responses

Oh... One more question: Does more mg of nicotine in a juice translate into a better or stronger TH?
Nicotine does add to the throat hit and I use 70/30 PG/VG 24 mg nic. in my fluid. The higher the PG the better TH hit. VG gives you more vapor but in my option less TH. As far as how long the C atty will last is hard to answer. On average a week or so, but somethings will make you think its not working well, One is that if you get to much juice in the atty you will get decrease performance so you need to pull the tank off and take the cone off the battery and blow it out and clean the top of the battery thread, then vape the cone with out the tank and when it starts performing like it should snap the tank back on and your good to go. You will also get decreased performance when your battery get weak so change your battery FIRST and see if that was what it needed. You can take the coil/cartridge apart by removing the needle plate off and doing a dry burn of the coil to burn the gunk off until the coil glows quickly when you press the button on the battery. The problem with doing this is sometimes when you take the needle plate off it will pull the wick out of it and its hard to put it back in, if not impossible. So if you don't want to try to clean it just put in a new one, I't cheaper than smoking. I know I have went on and on but I hope this was helpful. I really like my eGo-C.

Hi, I got the ego-c about a month ago and love it. Also, I have bought from Altsmoke in the past (not my ego-c) and found them to be quick and packaged good. As far as juice ratio, I have used 100% VG in the tank with no problem, but if you order 100% VG, ask for it to be thinned out, the place I used, uses distilled water to thin it out.

And to answer your question below, yes, that is all you need, I bought that exact cart from Altsmoke and it's pretty good, flavor is good, but I felt like I was sucking through filler, and it looks gross after a couple of days. :(

"I'm interested in trying the cartomizer system also. If I get the Ego-C , is this the only part I need to buy to try the cartos? AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | eGo Mega Dual Coil Clear Cartomizer"

Good luck in your ventures!
