I am ready to order some gear now that I know I love vaping so I would appreciate advice.

What is the difference between the Ego twist and Ego Spinner besides the dial? They both have the same type of connection right? Is one better?

I was going to order a 1000mah Ego Twist and try one of these with it not sure which is best:

AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Vision Clearomizer - AltSmoke or
http://altsmoke.com/vision-vivi-replacement-coil-tank-kit.html

I was also going to order 3 or 4 of these since it is what I use now and I know they work just to have them on hand:

AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer

As for e liquid I have only tried what my local vaping store gave me which is a nice maple flavored 26mg which is what I needed to start with being a heavy smoker but I want a regular tobacco flavor. Was going to order this?

AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Midnight Express - Tobacco Flavors - E-Liquid

Does this order seem ok or does anybody recommend something different?

I'm not really sure what the difference in the two batteries are but I'm sure someone will come along and break it down for you...what I do know is that after reading alot of posts over here about problems with the spinners buttons breaking I opted for a couple Ego Twists and 2 months later with everyday use of some sort they are still going strong!

As for e liquid taste is very personal. I picked up a few tobacco flavors right away as well to help me through any strong urges to pick up analogs and hated them all. Now I've read that the further we get away from analogs the more our taste buds will recover and tastes will change so I've kept those juices because they come well recommended and I'm hoping I'll enjoy them at a later date. Personally the only tobacco flavor I found that satisfied my craving was Vapenstein Blend Paris. It's tastes so much like what I used to love to smoke that I feel guilty vaping inside and still ask anyone around me if they smell smoke or if I smell like smoke and am constantly surprised when the answer is no. Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping! :toast:

Really can't say about the juice, I started making my own almost right away, I have not tried the new version of the Vision clearomizer.

I have tried and liked the Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer, I was at work and the tip fell off, I found I liked them better without the tip. The Ego twist is made by Joyetech, the spinner is made by Vision. I know I did not have any luck with the older version of the Vision clearomizer, hard draw and they left juice on the center pin of my battery. I am sure you will try many different juices and delivery systems before you find a few that you really like. Sounds like you are on the right track.

I am no expert but I want to say good for you for trying vaping.

Juices are so variable in likability that I definitely suggest sample sizes in different flavors.

I am sure someone will come along that understands this stuff better than I.

AltSmoke has a good reputation.

You might try something besides tobacco with your samples or you might try their RY4 or 555 since those are very popular flavors in tobacco.

I personally have not tried the Spinners, but I just got my 1000 mah twist yesterday and so far I love it. I considered a Spinner, but really heard good things about the Twist and wanted something from Joyetech. I started with a Smoov 808 which was great to break in with but I sold that to a co-worker and now I am really starting to get into vaping. I have tried a number of juices, but not very many tobacco flavors. When I got my first ecig, I got it from a brick and mortar vendor and he suggested trying a tobacco flavor initially to help ease off analogs. I found I hated that particular flavor and have not tried a tobacco flavor since. I am more a fan of dessert/sweet/fruit vapes. The problem is finding what you really like. I didnt realize how much $$$ I would be investing in the initial process, but I can say it is a hell of alot of fun. Not to mention I enjoy it SO much more than smoking analogs. I love being able to just lay in bed and sit in a restaurant and not be outside shivering in the cold. It really is one hell of a good time. The health benefits + the freedom to use in public or inside just really makes life so much more relaxing, not to mention it tastes SO hella delicious! And the smells that I leave everywhere I go....people are always SO curious as to why my office smells like cinnamon rolls or green apple. It really is a wonderful hobby.

I've own both Spinner and Twist and prefer the Spinner. Have had my Twists 5+ months and one button sticks, one dial turns far too easy (on its own) and the other dial very hard to turn. Have the Spinners for 4+ months and no issues "yet". Realize both these PVs are very sensitive to drops and knocks. I can't really knock the Twists as I've had them for awhile andf they have performed well.
Have also used the clearo and Vivi and the Vivi blows the clearo away in performance and build quality. That's the reason the clearo is 1/2 the price of the Vivi. Best ohms for the Twist is 2.4 as it offers a wider range of options. The http://altsmoke.com/vision-vivi-replacement-coil-tank-kit.html is the genuine Vision brand- be wary of clones/ knockoffs as they are problematic.

Thanks everybody. Looks like I will be going with the 1000mah twist for sure. The one I have now is a smaller ego by joytech and it lasts a long time. Very impressed with it.

As for a new cartomizer, is this the vivi everybody is recommending? It fits right on the twist?

Yes you want the 2.0 ml Vivi- looks best on the Twist- larger 3.5 looks funny. Also the threads between the Vivi and batt will be showing- you can buy a sleeve/ cone that threads on to the batt to hide the threads- about $3.00.

1000mah is a good starting point for a new vaper. You will definitely need two batteries to get you through the charging cycle. It will take a 2-3 hours for a full charge on one battery at 420mah charge rate. If you don't have two you will start thinking about a cigarette to get you through!

Sample packs are a good way to try different flavors and develop a taste for what you like. We are all different in our preferences. Finding the right juice can be expensive if you order 10ml or 30ml bottles and don't like them. Halo ecigs has a sample pack of their juices that contains size 7ml bottles for $24.99. Other vendors generally offer something like that, also. Aquavapor ecigs lets you pick 10 flavors for a 100ml sample pack for $29.95. Sounds like a deal.

Yep. Make sure you get a genuine Vision ViVi. Some of the clones work ok but you're better off getting the real deal for your first one. That way if you ever decide to get anohter and get a clone, you'll have something to compare it to. I bought a clone and I wasn't impressed. My Vision ViVi has been the best of all by far but that's just my personal experience. Good luck.

Glad your problems were resolved. Many times here at ECF people post "having wicking and/ or leaking probs with my Vivi". After all is said and done it "usually" turns out they're using a clone. Gives the genuine Vivi a bad rap IMO.
As far as Knockoffs I've used some GREAT knockoffs...key IMHO is to research before buying. I actually know of some knockoffs that are better than the genuine original item.
