Got a 510 starter kit 10 days ago & now need to upgrade to something better. Before I do that though I really need to get some decent

I see that you have $200 budgeted and that's a great start. That sounds like a lot of $$ but you don't want to blow the majority of that on a kit just yet. IMO the biggest and most expensive challenge of vaping was and still continues to be is finding the right juice to work for you. You have to go through a lot of juice to find your flavor preference, nicotine level, pg/vg combination. That has taken up the majority of my money expenditures (in the beginning...now I'm looking at mods and cartos etc.). Unless you are extremely lucky and hit that perfect juice on the first time, you are going to be spending more money than you think on juice...which is the most essential part of the vaping experience, especially in the beginning IMO.

Major Newbie mistake I guess? I have been reading so many reviews and opted for the 808 from V4L when it was on sale yesterday. I am still smoking analogs and bought this to help me quit them. I hope I didn't totally waste my money. Anyone have any experience with what I bought? What would you recommend when it comes to cartos and/or juices?

Startingover, I think you will be happier with a 510 threaded e-cigarette. The ones people are recommending like the Kgo, Ego, or Riva will be your best bet. I know the Kgo is $44 for two complete set ups from Hoosier e-cigs because I have that one.
If you do decide to go with the 510 or the eGo...keep in mind that while 510 atomizers and 510 cartomizers can be used on both eGo and 510 style PV's the chargers are not interchangeable. You will need a 510 charger for an eGo and an eGo charger for the eGo. Just fyi..

It's a good kit, good company.
Practically no one here is still vaping the kit they started with. You didn't waste your money at all. I'm not a fan of their juice, but many people like it. My mom liked some of their juice a lot.
Tons of long time vapers, even some of the mods quit using the V4L kit.

I would actually recommend getting a couple of the Ego passthrough batteries rather than standard ones. Not only do they let you vape whilst charging at the computer, but you can do away with using a separate passthrough and/or charger. They cost a bit more but I've been using them for about seven months now and my first one only just died (which is why you want 2). I do spend a lot of time at the computer, but even if you don't you can top up the charge whilst browsing forums or checking email and then just disconnect and take the same battery with you when you're needed elsewhere. The micro USB is also handy since many smartphones now use this for charging and the same cable will work for both (use the phone cable for both, not the passthrough one, to retain the data connectivity).
For some extra info, I also just got myself a Janty/Joye Stick v3 to further reduce the cost when batteries do die, and it is so far excellent. It takes 801/302 as standard, but I stuck a short 801-510 adapter in there and get great vapour and flavour from my 510 Boge cartos on it. The stick itself is a bit steep (compared with other box mods) but it's a good build and has a passthrough function plus separate charger, and replacement 10440 batteries are cheap as dirt. For anyone considering it, I recommend a short 801-510 adapter over the Stick sleeve adapter because that one seems to have a resistor inside and that limits vapour production a bit. It's also worth looking for an adapter without a hole to give yourself an extra safety net against leaks if you're dripping/filling with the atty/carto on the stick.
I quit with the V4L kit...its working great for me. I cant say I wont upgrade at some point because I probebly will but thats just me being curious if the experience could get any better. I'm really doing well with my kit and I cant say enough about their customer service!

What was your smoking style like? How often did you smoke, what type of cigs. Are you looking for a tobacco type of juice or are you open to something non-tobacco?
If you want something bigger down the road, you can pick up an inexpensive ego for around $30. Batteries last longer than the V4L kit. But you'll get a nice vape with both. The V4L is very pretty with all of the nice colors!
Check out this thread- I've never tried it but Cooper Creek house blend got lots of votes. You can get a bottle of that and a box of empty cartomizers and fill them yourself. They last longer and taste better than the prefilled cartomizers.
