Hi All,

This is my first post here on e-cigarette forum
I hope someone would be able to help me out. I'm a non smoker, however my mom smokes like a chimney.
As my father passed a few years ago, and with no grandparents I'd like to try to convert my mom into e-cigs, as I've been told it's healthier. I've tried countless of times getting her to stop entirely, but this is just not possible in anyway.

So - my question to all you e-cig experts. What should I by my mom as a Christmas present?
She smokes Prince Light, and smokes more when she is in company and drinking wine. So it's a social thing, but she also tends to smoke after breakfast coffee so it can't be only social.

Therefore what I think she would need it something quite handy as well as piratical (She's 66), but also important it gives quite a lot of vapour and obviously the nicotine. She's quite fanatic with style, so something that is not much much larger than a original cigarette and looks good.

I would be forever helpful if anyone of you could steer me in the right direction of a good e-cig brand and also let me know what kind of "juice" which i believe is the tobacco/nicotine that i should buy in order to roughly match the Prince Light she smokes. Price is not really a big issue, as it's just important for me to get my mom of cigarettes.

All the best
Mark

Most popular and recommended, weakest to strongest

100mah is about 1 hour of moderate vaping with standard resistance atomizer or cartomizer

--
slim-ish (around 9.2-9.4mm diameter)

Joye/Joyetech brand 510 MANUAL and use blank Boge cartomizers with it for everyday vaping. These batteries are only 180mah (though there is a mega xl size 280mah to make a 128mm long ecig with a cartomizer)

KR808D-1 - see Vapor4Life aka V4L (best feature is the batteries with 10-13 second cutoff allowing long drags) and see SmokelessImage/Bloogplanet/Halocigs G6 (rubberized, a bit longer charge per size, better sealed manuals, but a 5 second cutoff). Plenty of prefilled and blank cartomizers. I recommend standard/78mm batteries to make 120mm ecig with 280 to 320mah charge. On a manual you can use a standard resistance DSE901 atomizer and drip tip to test new juices (those two items are available from LiteCigUSA.net).

And I recommend manuals for the all of the above, for the best hit and harder to damage or kill with juice leaks.

---
fat - 650mah+ charge and the option of using the hotter LR low reistsance atomizers and cartomizers

Joye/Joyetech Ego
Riva 510 (from Liberty-Flights.com - those are 3.7v)
Kgo (I think from Hoosier Supply?)

---

All of the above use eliquid. Buy at least 30ml to start, 40ml if you are a heavy smoker. Hardware shops may only have premade juice with no PG/VG blends so not the best juice but you need something to start with. Most start on 24mg or 16-18mg, some prefer lower, a few prefer higher. Nicotine will feel harsher in 100% PG and won't make much vapor. Buy more juices at juices vendors where you can pick the PG/VG. I like 80PG/20VG which works in just about any method of vaping easily. Some methods can use thicker higher VG juices. PG lets through the most flavor, most nicotine hit, most nicotine irritation. VG dulls everything PG lets through but adds some nice thicker vapor.

----

If you buy a cartomizer model for her, using a drip tip as a mouthpiece in the end of the cartomizer makes it easier to add eliquid. Just take the cartomizer off the battery, pull out the drip tip, add some liquid, clean it up, easy reassembly and vape. Much easie than repeatedly removing the little endcap of the cartomizer.

Does she have arthritis or anything that would keep her from pressing a button?

I don't use an 808 model but I've heard a lot of praise about the "Volt" from smokeless image. The Bloog "Maxx Fusion" seems to have a bit of popularity as well.

The sites are as follows : http://bloogplanet.com/ and Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Electronic Cigarettes | Wholesale Electronic Cigarettes | E-Cigarette | Best Electronic Cigarette | Electronic CigaretteGet her an starter kit with some medium to high dosage cartomizers in tobacco flavor. If she likes them enough, start buying juices from the hundreds of vendors there are out there, they will more than likely have a juice that imitates her current analog. Be warned though, make sure she understands that vaping will never be smoking. To have someone properly quit, they must understand that they are giving up a habit for something completely different.

Although it is a great replacement, the best I'd say, it is different and if she needs tips on how to enjoy it or use it properly, the ECF is filled with guys and gals that can help.

There is nothing in the PV world that will be like any analog cigarette. Vaping is an alternative and we think a much safer alternative to smoking. Rather than suggest a PV for your mom, I'd suggest that you educate yourself as mush as you can so as to be able to assist her once you decide what kit to buy for her.

Vaping isn't smoking although it can be as satisfying if not more so than smoking. It involves a different learning curve and for someone that is very used to their analogs it can be daunting to say the least. There are many here that can help with most any hurtle that may come along. There are guides, videos and any number of threads that can also help you to help your mom.

Personally, I can't think of any other gift that would be better for either of you than to see her get off the "stinkys". Good luck to both of you!

My mom is the same way. After we both decided we wanted to go this route I researched and researched to find something that would be easy for her to use. We went with the Ego-T because it was fill and vape without much learning curve for her. I would suggest though that you get soft caps to go on the end instead of the normal cartridge caps. The hard end ones are hard to remove with arthritic hands. Juice is depending on what kinds of flavors she likes. I love fruit but my mom hates it. She loves atomic fireball cinnamon candy so I make her that kind of juice. Basically find your mom's fav kind of food treat and go with that. Oh and for cig flavor ry4 is good.

SmokelessImage Volt, Bloogplanet Maxxfusion, and Halocigs G6 are identical

I recommend manuals of those models for the sealed end and less work dragging to get a good hit BUT their buttons are really tiny. That's why I asked if she would have trouble pressing a button. You could get auto but I found I had to take 2 drags into my mouth them inhale to get the same hit an one drag on the manual.

Smokeless Image volts have new sealed auto batteries now. I don't think they come in the kit though. Also my brand spanking new Echo is auto and sealed too! I can't speak for the regular sized sealed volts. But my echo requires no "primer" puffs like my old 808 and 901 styles.

kr808 if its absolutely necessary that it looks like a cig. Mega 510 is a close second to that. If she's not opposed to something that's the size of an AA battery, get the ego/riva. You can't go wrong with any of those. Use Boge cartomizers to cut down on the "work" involved with refilling. Good luck! (Note: Even after a year of vaping and trying some of the fancier mods, I am still very happy with the ego style e-cigs)
