I bought an ipower 80w from eleaf, I'm going to pick up a tank today and my local store has the uwell crown and the crown 2 both on sale. Which would be a better model using the .5 dual coils running at 60w or so? I've seen good and bad reviews online for both, the bad reviews deal mostly with leaking but the good reviews all say amazing flavor

I have the original & have been very happy with it. I always used .25 coils until recently. After switching for me the .5 is much more suited to the tank. I had leaking problems for a couple weeks or maybe a month then they stopped & I've heard other people say the same thing. You can run it at 60 with no problems but will be giving up some flavor for bigger clouds. I ran the old coils at 70/80 & the new ones at 35-40. Now I use mine in tc & would recommend that if your mod supports it. It's easy to get dry hits & burn coils at higher settings in power mode.

The II seemed to get a bad reception. I don't own one, but I know people who chose to stick rather than twist. The main downside seemed to be the factory coils (i.i.r.c.) so if you are rebuilding, I can't see the new one being any different.

You'd need to do some serious digging to get a straight answer on the II, as the fake review sites were all over it and their fat commission soon followed.

You could bring out a complete dog of a tank and spinfuel and vaping 360 would still call it 'game changing' or 'awesome' or 'epic'. These reviews sites are leeches on vaping society.

I kind of felt that those review sites weren't giving the whole story that's why I asked here for advice I'm open to looking at any good tank especially for flavor, someone else also recommends the kangar subtank mini, is that any good?

I don't think the Kanger Subtanks offer as good a vape as the Crown.
If you really want to vape at 60w, the issue is maybe more complicated. I don't see the Subtanks getting up to 60w but then again I've only vaped one tank at 60w and it was a cheap Eleaf tank taken off the iJust2.

My vaping stops well short of 50w although I have vaped at much higher for interest.

Grego, what temp do you run in tc mode? The eleaf ipower does support temp control

I run it at 600. What I meant about temp is that some don't support ss coils. I was curious so I checked and yours does.
I haven't used that many other tanks so I'm not the best person to answer that question but I like the arctic. I've heard the arctic v8 is even better. One downside is they're bottom fill. The crown was my first tank. I've gone to rtas & an rda but still use it daily.

My Subtanks are only used at low wattage and they shine between 15 and 30 watts especially with the RBA .

The original Crown gets the best reviews for a flavor tank i have ever seen , it's incredible but the coils are superb and they last and last .

The Crown II got a bad rap solely due to the bad initial coils it came with but i can tell you with certainty the Crown II these days and the one i ordered from Ecig.com comes with some of the best coils i have ever used.

No leaks whatsoever and flavor is off the charts . I actually bought the Crown II before i got the original Crown and from all the positive reviews i found it hard to believe it could be better than the Crown II and to me it's not , about equal actually .

The Crown II takes the Rafale RBA kit , original Crown takes it's own RBA kit.

I do find it very disappointing when reviewers judge how good a tank is based on if the coils they bought for it are satisfactory or not , you are always going to get a few dud coils here and there.

I judge a tank on how well it performs with the RBA .

Thank you for your advice everyone, I'm actually going to go with the original crown because it turns out that they sold out of the crown 2 but at the reasonable price point it is even not on sale maybe I'll get it later anyway, I'll let you know how it goes with the crown. Is there any advice for priming it? I've heard you really need to soak the atty well

Just prime any coil heads as you would any others - just drip juice onto the wicking material until it is well fully soaked in, and then ensure it's screwed in firmly (not *tight* as it only needs to seal the o-rings and they can be damaged by over-tightening) and fill the tank.

Start off at a lower wattage - maybe as low as 50% of where you anticipate the 'sweet spot' to be, and then gradually work up the power as you use the first tank or so - don't pay too much attention to the manufacturers' wattage ratings on the coils - they're often exaggerated quite a bit on the high side.

'Each-to-their-own' and all that, but *no-one* really needs to vape at 100W or anywhere near up there, IMO - part of the art of 'tuning' a vape mod/topper is to be able to get a satisfactory vape out of it at reasonable power levels.

I have run tanks pretty high mostly before I really grasped the concept discussed by continuity. Also don't tighten any part of the tank too much especially when you put it back together after you put the coil in. Just snug because it is a real pita to get apart if you over tighten it. Take it from someone who had to use pliers on a new tank.
