Good for you.Poeia:) I'm in the dark ages with tracfone.
I'm not sure what tracfone is, but I had a basic flip phone that I got 8 years ago.

The main reason I did it is because I want to get my passwords set up with an encrypted password vault. A lot of the good ones have a final step of calling or texting you for confirmation. If I gave it my home phone number I wouldn't be able to access any website I use unless I am at home (which I frequently am but not always.) Now that I have it, I'm sure I'll find other uses.

I even got a good one. Samsung has a rebate offer on the S5 right now that made it the same price as buying the S4. I figure this way I can wait another 8 years to upgrade.

I like being in the dark ages. I have a tracfone too, it's a newer smarter phone but who wants to use their phone to do computer stuff? The screen is tiny, the keys to type are cramped and impossible, even if you do have a full keyboard .. and I simply refuse to speak in "thumbspeak" The english language is a beautiful thing, I will not brutalize (not my first choice of words but ECF censored me) it. (save the occasional "lol")

Plus I pay $59.99 a YEAR for more minutes than I can ever use, and they roll over year to year. I just add on a years service every year. I don't use it much, I live too far in the country to get a signal. I really just got it to have for emergencies if I'm driving alone.

Anyway, hello all, my internet is over paperclips so I've been offline for most of the night/day ... Is ECF having problems too or is it just me?

:)

Be careful deej ... you are doing a travel blog or thread, right? we wanna share the fun :)

Howdy Clowder!

Missed y'all yesterday. Busy with computer stuff.

A smart phone was great when I commuted by train, had music, news apps & other stuff to pass the time. But once I switched to a very short car commute and was otherwise sitting in front of a computer most of the time both at work & home, It lost a lot of it's usefulness. Now that I'm home all the time, even more so.

Of course it's still great if you find yourself stuck in a waiting room somewhere.

Heck I got a Samsung tablet, but between the phone & computer it hardly ever even gets turned on.

Got another free game for ya's! Plants vs Zombies Game of the Year Edition

Need to have or create an Origin gaming account to download. Enjoy!

DEEJ BE SAFE!!!

I don't like talking on the phone and my contact list is minuscule but I think this will get more use than my Kindle Fire. But I am now fully electronic so I don't think I'll need to buy anything else for years -- my computer is only a year and a half old, everything else is even newer.

ETA: I'm on Pogo for games. I've played Plants vs Zombies there. Cute but not in love.
