Those guys got in trouble over that jump. Probably more than normal because of filming it and such. Against the law I guess but made the city and its security look bad...

I had locking lids on my garbage cans in AK and the crows learned in about 2 times of me sitting them at the curb how to get them open. Then I had to put bungee cords on top of that to keep them out. When they realize it isn't easy pickins any longer they tell their buds and go find another victim. It wasn't lilke they had a lot of time to get into the cans because we had to keep the cans inside until 5 am on trash pick up day because of the bears and the truck was generally there and gone by 8

There's a reason they sneaked up there at night. Jumping off buildings is illegal in most cities. Plus they were trespassing.

My parents kept most of the trash cans in the garage but one was at the top of the steps just outside the kitchen. When I was in college, the raccoons learned about that one. They used to stand on the railing, take off the lid and throw garbage everywhere. My father put a heavy log on top of the lid (there were no bungee cords back then.) That worked for a while, then they started pushing the log off.

I went downstairs for a late night snack when I was visiting and noticed the lid was off (the kitchen door had windows.) As per instructions, I flipped the outside light on and off several times to scare the perpetrators away. Then I went out. I was putting the lid on the can when there was a whoosh as the lid got knocked out of my hand an the raccoon who was feasting inside the can jumped out and ran away.
