Nope-you gotta stay up! My dogs are acting like heathens

That was my cats early this morning. Argh! Woke up late, didn't have time to shower, forgot my badge for work, over brewed my tea, have a migraine echo, and... Yeah.

But, I have deejStuff on its way and more to be made and shipped soon. And CantaMelon in my Gripper. Life isn't so bad.

Watching the MasterChef semi-finals. One of the things they have to make in the pressure test is a Strawberry Cheesecake with the fruit sauce dripping over the side. They described it as "New York Cheesecake. Tangy, rich, cream cheese filling nestled in a crisp graham cracker crust, topped with a beautiful strawberry coulis."

New word for me so I looked it up. "A coulis is a form of thick sauce made from puréed and strained vegetables or fruits."

Nice, fancy word for the fruit cheesecake descriptions. (I think coulis is a smooth sauce only so a lot of them would become studded or decorated with fresh, ripe fruit."

:D

I love that idea! And yes, coulis would be, in this case, a sauce made of fruit, sugar, water or water-type ingredients, cooked down, blended and strained of any seeds or chunks. Very smooth. Probably more jammy-tasting then fresh because of the added sugar.
