Can't decide if he's really zen, or using reverse psychology.

Either way, I want to talk to this gentleman. LOL.

Sooo there I was riding my bike around the neighborhood today, and a lady was walking...I veered off to give passage and said hi as I pedaled by. Second time passing her was uneventful and I gave a little wave and kept on pedaling. On the third lap as I was approaching she said out loud " cancer Sux! Wow, I just was overcome with emotion...cancer has touched me personally, and hit very close to home on several of my family members, so I stopped pedaling, glided to almost a stop and turned around and stopped next to her. I said, yup, cancer does suck. I spent about five minutes talking with her, and told her my survival story, and how my mother had many years added to her life when she had gotten a diagnosis of a short term survival rate.

This encounter has touched me deeply, I don't know what made her say that, I don't know what state of mind she was in to reach out to a stranger in such a way, and I don't know why I was chosen to be in that particular place in that moment, all I could do was to offer an ear, and some words of encouragement, and to say fight for every day you get, and on those days that suck, fight harder. She showed me her bald head, and said she didn't mind so much about the hair, I laughed and showed her my recently shaved head, and said, it's only hair.

I'm going to keep an eye out for her walking, and probably get off the bike and walk along with her for a bit the next time I see her. I don't know why...

That's an awesome story, @ENAUD . Good for you for talking to her. When I worked where I worked, there was this walking guy and he'd always have these signs that he hung over his shoulders that were motivational, and he'd wave at every car with this HUGE grin. One day I was like, "I have to figure out why he does that." I pulled over and asked him, and he had been cancer free for about 8 months and was really grateful to be walking. He said it was his way to "give back" a little joy to the world that he experienced by beating cancer. It was really cool/touching.

Srsly, I would prefer the second scenario, but I've you know, backcountry camped.

Also, my parents had a pic of me as a kid, in Aus, during a LONG stretch of open road (I mean seriously, the final gas station had a warning "No gas station for 120 kilometers, please get gas and water."

The took a pic of my ABLUTIONS!!!!!!!!!! They would show off that pic from time to time to family friends and laugh about it (LOL, I considered their acts bordering on child abuse.)

1) WHHHHHHY take such a pic it's not "cute" or "funny" or any of the things they said it was, etc.

2) I finally realized it was ONE printed picture and I betted they didn't keep the film negatives. Believe me when I say that pic "is no more, has gone to meet its maker and etc."

3) Weirdos, clearly. I come from weird I am weird.

Finally, just carry TP and honestly I have been inside bathrooms where I would RATHER go "outside" just you know, make sure my weirdo parents are NOT around to photograph you. Etc.

I'll tell you one thing I don't squat on or near a CACTUS. LOL.

Anna

When I started growing my roses in California, I went out in my pajamas to get a pic of my beautiful first rose.
Welp, I backed up into the giant paddle cactus !

I was home alone.

Mirror, tweezers, contortions.

Cactuses are so evil. LOL. Almost as evil as my parents. LOL.

I rode into Tucson Mountain park on my bike ONCE. There is NO verge at ALL. I was either going to have to let a car hit me, or voluntarily hurl myself into a BUNCH of cactus.

The city that bikes, Um, No, not so much. LOL.
