There is a clause in the contract about not modifying the home. It falls under that clause. Also, IDK if some tenants did it in the past, and didn't get an insinkeratior version and it was murder on the pipes or SOMETHING, like this is a very elderly home.
However we were told one "happened" and it "caused problems" of some unspecified sort.
I'm just freaking glad we have a washer and a dryer frankly. Most of the rental houses we saw did not (nor did we see a single dishwasher either.) I think you have to kind of keep in mind how OLD these houses are, and unless it's tacky new housing, well, most of the kitchens had OVENS from the 1920s. I don't think the rental market is robust enough to like, update stuff.
This house actually WAS updated some. new floors and a much newer kitchen.
I don't mind washing dishes but neither I nor the husband remembered to buy dish soap and sponges. It's making things difficult. I should probably go today and like, get some snacks for my new team tomorrow, or something. I considered making my three stick butter pound cake with cream and strawberries but it's just not practical.
ARGH!!! Tomorrow, OMG.
