Definitive answer to tank type/filling method effect on feeding?

Hi, I have 2 almost exactly same carto-tanks, with exact same carto in(also tried different cartos, holes and slots) - 1 tank is working beautifully, the other one is not feeding - dry hits all the way, if I don't primepuff all the time.

What is causing this? In my logic, the tank design itself cannot affect anything, it's just a simple reservoir. Yet this happens, so I'm wondering about air-pressure?
Can some tank-designs, or filling method, cause some kind of "bad" pressure, to keep the juice from entering the carto?
If so, what is the definitive solution(when you know the carto is OK)?

There is a difference in pressure and filling carto tanks with top caps (like Fluid Flask) over ones that need a tank tool (IBTanked, Phiniac). When refilling the Fluid Flask by pulling off the top cap, juice collects at the top, and I cannot always release the pressure to refill the tank. My solution has been to fill all tanks, regardless of design, using a tank tool, because if too much pressure builds up, moving the carto releases it.

Also, there is a trick to Fluid Flask type tanks in a video by PBrusardo that involves turning it upside down after you fill it. That has also worked well for me.

The tank tools have multiple functions. Not only do they cut your tank setup time in half, they also protect your tank's o-rings from getting traumatized from the sharp edges of the carto each time it passes over them. Bad o-rings affect the negative pressure inside the tank (poor air seals), as can the juice fill holes (which I don't care for for that reason). Damaged o-rings can also be the cause of a leaky tank. I prefer the Slap Yo Moma tank tool over all the others I've tried, including the Phiniac and IBTanked tool; I find this tool indispensable for my tank setups.

BTW, the UDCT got a thumbs down by by PBusardo and has been plagued with issues since it was released if you read the tank sub-forum here, so your results are not surprising. They have a poor design and I never suggest them.

Thanks man, always good to know you're not alone. The weird thing was it's acting like this completely new, and O-rings and general build seems excellent. But it has to have some kind of problem, I syringe-filled it to get all air out, stuffed it with an f16 with to BIG extra slots, and stil I have to primepuff it to get bubbles out and juice in. It's extremely weird that a simple reservoir can have these effects.

You might just have some bad cartomizers. I've never been a fan of Boges. The few times I've tried them the consistancy has been all over the map. The main issue with me and Boges is the polyfill material that they use. It is much tougher to get them to take e-liquid while priming, and they don't wick as well as Smoktech or Ikenvape.

I've read of the same consistancy and quality issues with the UDCT tanks.
