I'm getting my supplies from a reputable small business,
everything has gone really well for the first 5 days.

I'm suffering a little dry mouth - juice, rather than water seems to best eliminate the dryness.

My curiosity is really surrounding this Dekang company, they sound Chinese and in light of the recent FDA analysis that for the most part I'm not buying into, I'm curious if Dekang was one of the companies in question.

For the safest juice, at least as far as quality, standards and good practices go, which company would you recommend the most.

I have some Johnson Creek juice here, old stuff from maybe a year ago. Which doesn't vape very well (too old perhaps??), but I hear only positive stories form these guys.

Thanks

I think it's PG that gives dry mouth, mostly. Though in my case it's both PG and VG. VG is better though.

I know of three non-Chinese companies (so far, anyways, I'm a newb):

Johnson Creek - I've read mixed things about them. There were some pretty disastrous reviews on their new stuff. They are American.

Then there is ECOpure. This stuff is British-made. It's VG based, but not too thick, it wicks nicely. They only got one flavor, I think, but it's a nice one. They also came up with non-flavored one (only available from their British site) that you can flavor yourself. Personally, I plan to stick with them.

And, last but not least, there is Vermont Vapor. They are American. Liquid is VG-based. I only tried their Maple flavor and I love it. The only problem is that it's very thick, and I just can't get it to wick right no matter what I do. I'm thinking of trying to dilute it a bit... They have great delivery time, too. I got mine in two days.

Anyways, that's all I know. :)

Cheers,
Briar.

I just got my first ecig (Joye510) a couple days ago and I got several 10ml Dekang juices to try. I got the Camel, RY4, Flue Cured, Dunhill, Virginia, 555 and coffee. However, every single one of them tastes exactly alike—even when I tried mixing them. And the taste leaves a lot to be desired. To me, they all taste sort of like a mixture of burnt sugar and metal or something. Not exactly what I was hoping for :(

I even washed out the atomizers with hot water and dried them before re-using and the taste did not change at all.

I love the Joye510 for overall vaping power, but I'm not impressed with the taste of these juices.

Has anyone here had a similar experience with Dekang ejuice?

Do most e-juices out there basically taste alike? I just ordered some Johnson Creek stuff (Original Tobacco and Mint Chocolate) to give it a try. I got my fingers crossed.

Can anyone recommend a good e-juice and e-juice company that will ship to Canada?

Thanks!

I keep reading everywhere about Dekang supplying over 90% of the liquid out there, but I have also seen plenty of major suppliers state that thy do not get theirs from Dekang.

AFAIK, the over 90% figure was given by Dekang themselves on this forum, and I'm not sure I believe it.

Sorry to contradict: they've got Fresh, Mild, Regular, Rich (my personal favourite), and Menthol flavours, plus (as Briar correctly stated) they have now just released Krystal (which is unflavoured) and ECOmix, which is designed to use to dilute the liquids and make DIYing easier (it's basically VG mixed down to the right consistancy for mixing and vaping)

Yes. I HATE DeKang juice, personally. I get a very strong chemical/perfume smell and taste from every flavor I've tried.

Hey JerseyGirl, I think you nailed the smell/flavor right on the head. It IS a chemical/perfume taste and smell. In fact last night I was trying to get a more accurate sensation of what flavor this really has, and perfume did come to mind. However, "plastic" did too. Its like a perfumey burning plastic taste. It really is bad.

It'll stick to your atomizer, too - I've soaked attys in coke for 24 hours and still tasted the DeKang afterwards. It makes me a little nauseous.

I'm trying to go the DIY route too, but having some trouble finding reasonably-priced unflavored liquid that's not DeKang. I have a shipment of the DeKang unflavored on the way - could be here today, actually - and I'm hoping it won't have that chemical taste. Otherwise, DIY could turn out to be pretty expensive, lol...

The PG in the juice dehydrates you. Drink lots of water. This is very comon and will happen with and PG based juice. I drink a lot of water since I started vapeing and I no longer get a dry mouth/throat. I think that juice is helping more because it makes you salivate more. I like to add a little lemon or lime to my water for the same effect. I wouldn't worry about Dekang because they are the main suppliers and are conserned with QC. Some suppliers get Dekang juice and re-package it, that could be a problem. Whats wrong with your JC juice, does it not make good vapor? tastes bad?

Hey JerseyGirl, what flavors (with company name) would you personally recommend that actually taste good without the perfume taste? I am looking for a true tobacco flavor and a good coffee flavor (the Dekang Coffee is NOTHING like coffee...tastes just like any of their other stuff)

About the atomizer...man, if coke didn't work to get that Dekank taste out,I might have to soak mine in acid or something!

Check this thread for more information on non-DeKang suppliers:

I think 'something changed'. My very first batch of juice from ruyandirect/heavengate was 30ml 'high' of Kent, Hilton, RY4, Cappuccino, Flue Cured, Vanilla, Chocolate, Coffee, Licorice, Mint. I like all except the Cappuccino and the Coffee. The Hilton and RY4 is my wife's 2 favorites of all she tried.

Later, mid july?, I got an order from eastmall and experienced similar to what you describe -perfumy - I reported that here at the time. And I don't know if it is a chemical taste but I would describe it more as a biting strong tobacco taste but it borders on chemical. I was able to blend it down to where it was vapable. Wife didn't care for either the Hilton or the RY4.... so I tried ruyandirect again real close to the eastmall order and found the same problem but not to the extent of eastmall, imo. Still wife says no to the hilton and ry4. The last batch from ruyandirect.... wanting to try out the new cappuccino was closer to the first batch but not quite there yet. Wife is 'good' with the hilton and ry4 but still not like the first stuff.

I'm hoping it was just a bad batch for July but I'm wondering if something changed. I understand 'lots and batch' differences but this was quite a change, imo.

My own favorites have remained Janty/Joye or whoever makes it RY4 and cappuccion and marlboro, newport. Wife doesn't care for them - except the marlboro :-|

If anyone happens to have any "pre June or early June" ruyandirect Hilton and RY4 that you didn't like and still have on hand - it would be with a the smaller label with 'ruyan #4' or 'hilton' with the strenght below and a squiggly graphic below that, I'd (well the wife) be very interested!

LOL, I know - I've got 30ml of DeKang's Coffee sitting in my "unvapeable" box, unfortunately.

I've only really liked the juice from 2 suppliers I've tried. One was Electronic Ash - he had a liquidation sale a few weeks ago and I got a 50ml bottle of Menthol 24mg that was fabulous. Unfortunately, he was liquidating the last of his non-DeKang juices at the time, and is now selling only the DeKang.

The other juice I loved was from Widows Bead Work - carts & Juice . She doesn't carry a huge variety of flavors, but I've liked *most* of the ones I've tried - Menthol (24 and 18mg), Apple (18 and 12mg) and Marlboro (12mg). She also carries a Tobacco flavor, which I haven't tried, but I do like her Marlboro.

I also tried her Coffee, on the recommendation of several people here, and it was gross. Not "Dekang" gross, fortunately - no chemical taste - but the stuff tasted EXACTLY like burnt toast. However, lots of people apparently love that flavor, so YMMV on that one.

Last week, I got an order from her that contained 30ml each of Menthol 18mg and Menthol 12mg. The 18mg was the same as always - deep color, nice consistency, good menthol/marlboro flavor, no chemical taste or smell. The 12mg, on the other hand, was identical to a bottle of Dekang Mint that's also in my "unvapeable" box. Thin, very light color, vaguely mint flavor with no tobacco base, and a chemical odor that I could smell before I took the cap off the bottle. So evidently, not ALL of the Widow's liquids are from Joye. Either that, or Joye is now getting some of their liquid from DeKang...

Anyway, that's the extent of my personal experience so far, but this is all being discussed on this thread, if you want to know which other suppliers carry non-DeKang stuff:

The latest batch of DeKang liquids I got had production dates in April, I believe. And were definitely gross. So if something changed, it must have been earlier than that...?

Hmm. Maybe is was a batch after April but before July.??? We seem to have some similar tastes - in fact I just orderd Apple from the Widow on some of you're comments. I'm not big on the fruit tastes but some I like so I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm wondering if you've ever had a Hilton or Kent or Flue Cured that you like? ... and if so from where ;-)

I do love her Apple, lol! It's tart and sweet at the same time, a very bright, fresh flavor. I actually just got some LorAnn apple, and I find the flavor to be very similar, if not identical, to the Widow's Apple. Which is great, because if I can find some decent unflavored liquid, I'll be able to make this stuff myself! Love the Widow's double nickel juice deal, but it'll still be cheaper to DIY...

Sorry, can't help you with those specific flavors, I'm not really a fan of tobacco (except with menthol, when I want to feel like I'm smoking a cig). I do know that Rob at Good Prophets is selling 50ml juices that are supposedly not DeKang (I think he said they're SLB brand) and they're mostly in tobacco flavors. I've got a bottle of the 26mg Virgin (which is actually unflavored, not Virginia flavored like I assumed, lol) on the way. Once it arrives, I can at least let you know whether it's got that DeKang taste/smell, if you want to consider ordering a bottle of the tobacco flavor. :)

I did have another response from a supplier who was selling non-DeKang juices in tobacco flavors, if I recall correctly. Can't remember who it was now, but I'll try to dig it up for you...

Another manufacturer is Best Ecig: e-liquid
After experiencing the foul and lingering taste of many flavored e-juices (Dekang) I decided to stick with Best Ecig's tobacco flavors and have been happy with Flu Cured, Regular tobacco, and Marlboro. I also tried their Cigar, but don't care much for it. They are in China so I usually make a fairly large order to justify shipping costs.

Yesterday I ordered 510 stuff from Heaven Gifts and ordered 90ml of Dekang tobacco type juices, I HOPE it's not the fowl tasting stuff! The price was better and I didn't want to have two different orders from China and deal with extra shipping costs.

Really appreciate that JG! Wife will too if a good Hilton comes out of it. I may do a smaller bottle as a sample from Good Prophets.

Thanks. Last batch was promisng and the cappuccino improved. The price on hardware is hard to beat at ruyandirect and there's a sale on parts there now.
