I want to know what's going to keep them from bumping into eachother and telephone, electric wires, etc,,,,,,,,especially after there are dozens flying in the air in any one given area at a time,,,,,,,

and yes, I remember being told we'd all do our shopping on the computer,,,,,,,,hey wait!

Sensors would keep them from colliding with things. But things fail and I don't want to be under it if it does :-0

Hey, a steady stream of drones carrying vape-gear to my place would be great ... but this is Canada and it would likely lag several years behind the US in implementing, and instead of mechanical drones we would use human drones, and instead of 30 minutes it would be 3 - 10 days ... wait, I guess we are ahead of the game already :)

I remember watching a programme when I was a kid telling of how we would be going about our daily business and getting to the office in flying cars, LIARS !!

^^ he says while chatting on his 'wristwatch video phone' ,
the other hand holding an 'electronic cigarette,
and his car parking itself...
:D

we're getting close...

Call me cynical but that 'announcement' was nothing more than a promotion of Amazon - traffic driving to Bezos website on the busiest online shopping day of the year.

It's an interesting concept - but that's all it is imho.

Still, I love their 2 day prime shipping - 99% of the time that's fast enough for me.

Now, 3D printing of e-liquids - that's a concept I could really get behind.

Or protection from rednecks making a sport out of drone hunting.

That's one of the first things I thought. What about all those slope headed knuckle draggers who'll want to take pot shots at the drones? Not to mention having their hound dogs fetch 'em. Or their kids. SMH.

Those knuckle draggers may have good reason to be concerned. Safety and privacy come to mind right off the top of my head.

No doubt there will be pizza delivery drones on the way soon, and I'm quite sure the enterprising Sinaloa cartel is looking into drug smuggling drones already. Fly [moderated] over the Rio Grande, drop it right where your guy is, fly the drone back for another load. I'd be real surprised if it's not already being done.
