Dented IMR battery

Hi folks,

I have a small dent on the bottom of one of my IMR 18650 batteries. Is it a bad idea to continue to use it?

How did it get the dent?

I actually have no clue how it got the dent. I don't recall ever dropping the thing. I was about to put it on the charger last week when I happened to look and notice the dent.

I would suggest not using it any more, Get yourtself a good new battery and dont take a chance on it,

Does it get warm while charging? a picture would be great.
I have a few that have button tops sometimes they leave an indent.

I'll try to get a pic. It gets slightly warm, but not to any level of concern. This one is a button top as well.

if a torn wrapping is of concern (and it is), then i should think a dent is of concern as well. bummer. but less of a bummer than an explosion obviously.

so torn wrapping is bad? I'm using a segelei 8 and it is a little rough and kinda leaves a line in the wrapping where the threads meet and I have one tenergy battery that is torn around the pcb are these big issues as well?

I definitely would not use that battery, they are cheap enough to replace, so better safe than sorry. bnrk
