Hello everyone
First of all I am posting here because I am a new member and seeking advice.
I want to be sure that I post in the right place when able.
I have been lurking for some time now and just can't seem to find a thread that addresses my particular interest. Don't get me wrong there is some fantastic stuff here and I have learned a lot in a very short time thanks to the generosity of the folks here who freely give their knowledge and time.
My particular interest is in building a Variable Voltage mod that is powered by a switching power supply. I am very comfortable with the theory, the electronics and the mechanical work necessary, but was looking to see what lessons had been learned by people who had gone down the same path.
I want to build a "wired" MOD (for want of a better term) to give me more freedom from battery charging as I only vape in one room of the house when I am home. The rest of the time I will be vaping on batteries like most people.

So, can one of the veterans, suggest a more appropriate forum to post questions about wired MODS
cheers
Tony

Thanks for the quick reply bacc.vap. Maybe I misunderstood pass through as I saw many battery powered MODs with pass through
I had assumed that this just described a way to charge the battery while vaping. I want to build a MOD without any battery or battery holder. Most of the pass through MODs that I found only had a mini USB connector as the pass through - that won't handle the current without a battery....
Am I missing something?

I've always wondered if one of those pass through units would work if you plugged it into one of those "power bank" USB chargers for phones? I've seen some 5000mah power banks or maybe even be powered by the USB charger on my head unit in my car. Be kinda nice to just leave one in the car so I don't have to fiddle with a locked mech that's in my pocket while driving.
