Hey guys,
thanks for such a comprehensive forum. I have learnt so much in a short space of time. Lots of consistency in information which is rare on internet. :)
I have just ordered over $100 dollars of Flavours and can't wait to attempt some delish sounding recipes. I have bought mostly desert flavours and have just read about Diacetyl present in creamy flavours etc. My question is whether or not most of you guys avoid these flavours and stick to fruity recipes or is it a minimal risk that you willing to take. I'm leaning towards not worrying about it atm because I've stopped smoking analogs and I even have a nice vaporizer for the erb ;-) , my lungs have never felt better and I'm liking tobacco flavours and desert ones. I'll try to find a fruity one eventually. Cheers in advance for any info. Happy vaping

DAP is man made poison, the other stuff is not, and no need to snarl at the guy.

I didn't take it as a snarl, rather than a reminder about ECF rules: Why we don't allow drug talk

IIRC, there is more Diacetyl in cigarettes than most juice. I try to avoid it where possible anyway and some vendors are working to get it out of their juice. I DIY and can create creamy flavors without it so I'm happy.

Bull City Vapors has warnings for flavors with harmful ingredients. You can also go to the manufacturers sites for more info.

I am using TFA Sweet Cream, which contains Diacetyl, very sparingly. The remainder of my flavors are diacetyl free.

No worries didn't know that was a rule. You did snarl though

+1 for trying to avoid them but the emphasis is on "trying". They're present in a lot of flavors, but it's becoming a little easier now to be able to avoid it. I try and stick to fruits as much as possible, although that won't guarantee me being free of diketones.
I will try too, but having only been off analogues for month or so It seems too much of a jump atm. Started on tobacco flavours then tried custard loved it moved to deserts. Tried some fruity ones and menthol, liked them, but I seem to get sick of fruity ones quicker.

All over the place
Very minimal risk. Substitutes have no guarantee for safety. Pretty much anyone that's been vaping for 3+ years has vaped DAP and is currently alive to tell about it. Most of them are bragging about better health / great lung function.

You are free to believe what you wish, but let's not act like vaping is the same nowadays as it was 2+ years ago. Best to keep apples with apples. Two+ years ago it was a feat to go through, in a day, the volumes of liquid that can now be vaporized in an hour. And lastly, no one here is (seriously) talking about death being a result of vaping diacetyl, so being a vaper for however many years and still being "alive to tell about it" is exaggerating fears. I am alive today to tell about a whole bunch of stuff from my life I wish I never had to have gone through, but that's doesn't mean it was nothing because it didn't kill me.

If someone throws caution into the wind and vapes regardless of whats in the juice and they still feel great then congrats but it means nothing in reality . What people should be thinking about is a decade or two down the line.

If you eat cholesterol loaded food your whole life your going to eventually need to stop as serious issues will reveal themselves , a big reason why fatal first time heart attacks have skyrocketed for people in their thirties and forties .

Always wise to take precautions if you can and with regard to flavorings you certainly can .

If you see flavorings listed as DX and V2 for example ( DX used by the Flavoring Apprentice) and ( V2 by Capellas flavor drops) that means the flavorings should be devoid of the harmful stuff .

Many people like FlavorArt as they make some of the best flavors available and they recently released a chart that tested all their flavorings for diketones , TFA also has an extensive list .

FA is my preferred flavoring but i also like Capellas and TFA .
