Hi there,
one reason to either like or dislike e-smoking, in my opinion, is the technical aspects of it. Noting is so simple as to take an analog out of the packet, take your lighter, and smoke. This is not the same with e-cigs.
I like to tweak with things, so for me it is an additional pleasure of vaping ;-)
Here is my list of gear and its evolution, after half a year into this new 'habit':
1. EVOD
I liked the EVOD very much in the beginning. After a while I started to taste a slight rubber-like flavour to it. Maybe this is related to the very subtle flavours I like to vape. The rubber flavour is very subtle, but since I noticed it I did not really like the EVOD anymore. I tried to rebuild my own coils, but then found out the rubber taste is coming from the grommet at the bottom of the EVOD atomizers. I even tried coils with twisted legs (so the wire touching the grommet has less resistance and should therefore heat up less) but this did not solve the problem completely, I guess the legs touching the grommet still get heated by the wire's conductivity for heat. I don not use the EVOD clearomizers anymore, only the batteries.
2. eRoll
Nice little e-cig. tank system. Comes with a charging case that resembles an iphone. Good quality product. Very small and convenient to carry with you (also as a backup device). Atomizers are quite expensive, but with the liquid I am using it takes months before I need a new one. Apart from the blue led at the end of the device, this is a nice stealth vape too. I still use this from time to time.
3. iTaste MVP
Good value for money. Big capacity battery. Variable voltage or wattage. Integrated resistance meter is handy when building your own coils. In my opinion it is too big to take out. I use it at home when I want to experiment with different voltages/wattages on a new setup.
4. iClear30
Came with the iTaste. At that time, having experience only with the EVODs and eRolls, this was a huge difference. Big clouds and good taste. But in my opinion it is not very good looking. Don't know exactly why, but I am not using it.
5. UD AGA-T3
First play with rebuildables. It was nice to play around with. Quite difficult to find the right build while at the same time keeping it from leaking. I can still not fully trust it will not leak when on its side, so I decided it is not suited for in your pocket when going out. Do not use it much anymore.
6. Bulli A2-T
Beautiful device. Fully stainless steel. Very easy to build consistently. Never leaks (unless you do something wrong). Most difficult was to find the right setup for the 'second wick' that brings the liquid from the tank to the 'first wick' and coil. Nice and small device, also to take out. I use this daily, mostly on an EVOD battery (together with a beauty ring to cover the exposed ego-threading).
7. GP PAPS V3 (coming up)
This will be my next toy
This mod is not out yet, but it will be soon. I have one in preorder. It will be my first mechanical mod. I like the idea of mechanical mods: no more electronic fiddling, just finding the right setup of coil and wick. Searching the internet and forums, the incredibly nice stuff from GP came up as my first choice: quality and simplicity together with a beautiful design, and not to forget the outstanding support (in the rare case that something is wrong). The only disadvantage of having this as my first mechanical mod is that it will probably leave no room for improvements
I'm really looking forward to it!
8. GP Spheroid of Heron (wish list)
Amongst the top rebuildables currently available. I like top
Still not decided which one to get. I like the sleek and simple looks of the spheroid. The heron is less sleek, but I guess it will be an improvement over the spheroid on various other aspects. Seamless integration with 22mm mods, adjustable airflow, optional cotton-build modus, design with o-rings allows for convenient disassembly. I think it will not take long before I make my choice.. leaning towards the heron now.
So this was the list from my first half year of fiddling with gear.. I guess it will get longer someday
