I have been dealing with weight issues all my life and I think I may have even lost a little since vaping. I think I tend to vape on candy flavors at night instead of going for that bag of chips. I dont know if it is that oral fixation thing that may make people snack more when quiting smokeing or the lack of stimulant that slows down metabolism.

Just some thoughts.

I've always thought that people said that because nicotine use can lead to weight loss. People sometimes gain weight once they come off of the nicotine just because the nicotine was actually keeping the weight off the whole time they were smoking. Nicotine is a stimulant, after all. It can accelerate your metabolism just like caffeine can.

It's strange to me, but I've gained 15 pounds this past month and started vaping in February. I get the munchies after enough vaping. When I'm home all day just vaping away, I'm constantly snacking. I'm actually trying to gain weight, so I just use the increased appetite as an opportunity to squeeze more protein into my diet, but yeah... I don't know about direct weight gain, though my appetite has definitely gotten totally out of control since I picked up vaping. I don't get quite as full as I remember, either. I can just eat and eat.

I have lost weight, but I really needed to and was a part of my "Now I take care of Me" program. I started water aerobics, and began the weekly fast, (as shown on PBS and DR. Oz), and bought lots of delicious desert eLiquids to help me through it all.

It has been a real struggle and I can't recommend taking everything on at once, but I felt I needed to "emerge" from my former life with a new perspective all around. The transformation is just beginning to show and it is not easy, but everyday I feel cleaner, greener leaner!

Food started to taste so much better... I actually want to eat in the morning instead of coffee and cigarette... I want to eat more too...
So yeah... I did :(
Now I'll need to use time saved from going out for a smoke to workouts :)

This is exactly why I had the weight gain .. suddenly, food tasted so much better ..

Haha, I guess I had that coming (and in another life, I would have a different story to tell...) but yes - ONLY nicotine. *raises right hand* I swear! :|

For real though, vaping does seem to boost my appetite. It can't be the flavors, either. I either vape straight unflavored or menthol.

now the people who are losing weight.. do you eat less because you are vaping things like dessert flavors instead of eating them?

I've gained weight but only because I'm trying to for the summer (got to stay buff for the women :) )

i feel like I also would have lost only because instead of drinking soda.. i'm vaping it.. etc etc

I gained, but I also eat more because food is so delicious now. My digestion has also come to a halt since quitting, which doesn't help. At the same time I've made healthier lifestyle changes such as only drinking water, eating more fruits & veggies, and taking various supplements. No more soda, coffee, tea, or other beverages with calories, artificial sweeteners, or acid. I'm sure I could lose if I tried harder.

Sometimes thirst is mistaken for hunger. Have you been drinking 2 liters of water a day?

I initially lost since I was drinking so much water to handle the dehydration that comes with vaping. Unfortunately, that has hit a plateau, but at least I didn't gain weight. I use my after dinner vapes of desserts instead of the real thing and am sure that helps as well.
