Sometimes thirst is mistaken for hunger. Have you been drinking 2 liters of water a day?
Yep. I always have water wherever I am. I make it a point to continue sipping even when I don't feel thirsty. I learned very quickly that you have to drink a lot of water if you're going to be doing a lot of vaping. What I'm experiencing is definitely a strong hunger.

I really wish it was the wacky stuff, but again, it is not. If I was smoking that stuff, I wouldn't bother bringing up how vaping seems to increase my appetite. I would already have my answer. I was kinda hoping for some real ideas behind what might be causing this rather than some borderline inappropriate jabs at my character. It was funny the first time, but come on now guys... ...remember where you're posting this stuff.

I gained, but I also eat more because food is so delicious now. My digestion has also come to a halt since quitting, which doesn't help. At the same time I've made healthier lifestyle changes such as only drinking water, eating more fruits & veggies, and taking various supplements. No more soda, coffee, tea, or other beverages with calories, artificial sweeteners, or acid. I'm sure I could lose if I tried harder.

I've had the same digestive issues, It's strange, isn't it? I am also doing the fruit and veggie thing, supplements and plenty of water. No more coffee, soft drinks, etc too as well as going gluten free and no MSG or prepared foods.

It's not easy, and I am feeling the loss, but I am determined to change my life!

I gained some weight....but I've been vaping 3 years and am in late 40's so....can't say it was because of vaping or lack of cigs. Basically...it's food.

Nic is a bit of an appetite suppressant. Also vaping/smoking stems some "nervous habits" that can lead to munching. But over all....IT IS WAY BETTER to lose smoking even before losing weight. Lose weight if you think you can/need to. But above all else, lose the smokes.

All those products of combustion wreak havoc on all your systems. I don't even want to hear the crap about "oh, smoking two cigs a day is like not smoking at all." Complete B.S. IMHO. Lose the smokes if you can. Do your best. Every cig avoided is a win, sure. But none is WAY better than even one per day.

Be conscious about weight. But don't use it as an excuse to smoke.

Post-Smoking Weight Gain Doesn't Harm Heart | MyHealthNewsDaily.com
Indeed, the most overwhelming risk factor for having a heart attack or stroke is cigarette smoking. "A little weight gain that raises blood pressure, blood glucose or cholesterol isn’t nearly harmful enough to overcome the benefits of not smoking," Meigs said.

Wow. Cool for you. Hope "Everything at once" works for ya! For me, that's too much at once. But even if you miss some goals..try and stay with vaping.

There is a withdrawal period from cigs even with vaping. So....give it a chance. It really DOES get better!

Has your digestion improved? Gluten free is going to be next on my list to try. I'm running out of ideas. All I know is that it hurts less to eat meat & cooked veggies than it does grains. I do love grains though. Evil delicious carbs. LMAO

now the people who are losing weight.. do you eat less because you are vaping things like dessert flavors instead of eating them?

I've gained weight but only because I'm trying to for the summer (got to stay buff for the women :) )

i feel like I also would have lost only because instead of drinking soda.. i'm vaping it.. etc etc

Incidentally, the reason I think I'm losing is just in the past week or so, I have mostly kicked another one of my addictions without even TRYING: Caffeine. I was a die hard soda drinker, and disdained drinking water. Now I drink a POOP ton of water..like.. five or six 32 oz cups a day or so. I swear it's melting off, and it's wonderful. Can't wait to take up walking :)

For me, it seems the behavioral aspect of vaping keeps me busy and my mind off eating. Plus, the fact you are getting some form of nicotine to appease the endorphins which play a large role in feelings of hunger.
"As endorphins flood the brain to block different hunger pains, they often create a euphoric mental state that some describe as powerful" (rameynutrition.com).

I've gained weight... But its not vaping's fault lol.

I don't drink water like I should, and I started a new office job vs. my last job which was construction.

I'm gonna start drinking water and exercising on my days off though now that the weather is getting warmer. The water thing will take some adjusting because I hate the taste of the stuff lol.

The inches I've lost have been over a period of a year. Can't tell you how many pounds I've lost because the scale and I don't like each other, so I measure my weight with how loosely my clothes hang.

I don't think the flavored ejuice is the culprit, it's more the amount of fluids I drink in a day. I once asked a chiropractor who was into nutrition how much fluid to drink and his answer was "drink as much as it'll take your urine to come out clear (sorry)." Because I drink a lot of fluids, I seem to have a full stomach most of the time so I'm sure I'm not eating as much any more (smaller portions). Mind you I still drink soda, iced tea, milk, orange juice, water and it seems to curb the temptation to eat junk food.

Giving up carbs was harder than giving up cigarettes, honestly! There are great Gluten free alternatives for bread, etc, but it requires a commitment not to eat anything without knowing exactly what is in it, so restaurants are off the list, (pretty much) and just about all prepared foods.

I have been gluten and MSG for two years and it's made a tremendous difference, I am still having problems but at least I haven't had to have a major replumbing intestinal surgery yet, which was where I was headed two years ago.

It all depends on how important living is to you, I ruined my health for half my life, now I'm going to spend the second half saving it.

I put on 30 pounds, going from a solid 186 at 5'8 to 216.Dunno if I can attribute all of that to quitting smoking though.

I've been at school full time for a year now without working. Those who have waited tables can attest to the 10 miles on average a day we walk.

The rest of the weight? I dont see it as a negative, I see it as my body finally getting healthy again without those poisons inside. With warm weather here Im going back to walking 5 miles a day or so and should be back around 195 or so soon.
