So i thought of venturing into the genesis world of attys. Ordered one of this to try since it was cheap and not that hard to find. I must say, its one of the worst for starters. Its tiny and everything on it is tiny as well. Took me quite a while to even roll the wick to fit the hole.

And then somehow i managed to do it then oxidize it and coil up.

The coil burns pretty much evenly when dry burning.

Then when the wick is soaked in juice in the tank there is a single hotspot on a small portion from the coil from the wick leading to the positive post. Is that normal?

And then i get that weird metallic taste with the flavour. Not sure if i should let it burn in more and try again?

First time it happened i threw the wick away. Rolled a new mesh made sure this one was oxidized (did the whole process about 7-8 times - find it hard to believe its still not oxidized properly), and then coiled it (i did flame the coil too) and put it on did clone. Still getting the same problem now.

By the way, is that taste just something you won't like or is it actually dangerous? (vaping some sort of metallic fumes?).

On a side note my first attempt brought about a 1.6 ohms set up. The second is 1.0 ohms

Oxidizing the rolled SS mesh is less complicated than you think. Most of the old farts here do it with a quick torchover, using just a lighter, using stove and even not oxidizing it.

But the variants are there. You have to find yours.

Is it really that hard??? i coiled mine the first time and vaping was a fairy tale dream after on =D

u have a DID clone? the hole is just way too minute and im thinking the problem is with the wick. i could'nt roll it perfectly to fit the hole even after an hour of trying, even went and trimmed the mesh they gave. the coiling went fine on mine.

I should try unoxidised wich some day. There isn't any difference in taste right?

PLENTY of difference. It is the cleanest taste possible. The juice does not get contaminated by the carbon on the mesh. Wicking some guys say is actually less efficient, I believe is the rolling of the mesh. It is a very dry vape, not a dry hit, but a dry, analog kind of smokiness.

Try it once. No garuantee you will like it, but some of us do.

Will try it out. Hate it when my coil and wick stuck with full of carbon haha
