It needs to be as near as possible because any parts that doesn't come into contact with the juice will be a potential hotspot.

Length differences between both poles doesn't matter.

Personally, I use a tweezer to move that part around the wick.

Push it in.

Thanks! I guess i need some pratice to it. I always tend to wrap it tightly and bend the mesh. Does it need to be that tight?

slight bend is ok cause you've to have the shortest possible connection between the coil and the top nut, and no not too tight, just nice i would say.

Ahh i see. Thanks. Anyway lately i'm having this popping issue. When the liquid wicks up and start burning, the liquid will pop like fireworks. Lol. Any idea whats the cause?
