First of all, I apologize. I hate repeating questions and I'm sure this issue has been discussed before, and I DID do a forum search, but I didn't find any exact answers, so...

I recently got my first "real" equipment: a 1000 mAh eGo and some dual-coil, LR cartos, and some juice. I was used to attys/carts, so I only got a couple of the cartos. One worked fine, with a mostly PG juice. In the other I tried BWB Malty Toffee, which is apparently 70% VG. I had done some research, so I wanted to be careful with my first primarily VG juice. I wasn't going to use it in my LR carto, but it actually tested high, at 2.6 ohms, so I tried it anyway. I knew that VG was thicker, so I filled it with the condom method, figuring that would ensure that the coils were covered when I first fired them. It tasted great for 5-6 puffs, then suddenly tasted burnt. I immediately stopped, re-filled it again(same way), and waited for a while before trying again. Now every time I try I get 1 or 2 good hits then it tastes burnt.

So that leaves me with a couple questions:

1. If I burnt my carto, what did I do wrong? I suppose it might take VG longer to wick, is that my problem?

2. Can I do anything for the carto if it's burnt? I think I've read that a burnt carto is just toast.

Wow, I didn't expect that to be such a novel, but I wanted to include all of the pertinent info. Thanks for any help.

Yeah I think all BWB juices are 70pg/30vg except the Maltys.

Yes you probably singed it. Thick juices do not work well in cartos. Somebody claimed they can use 100% VG in dual coils so maybe that one person will come along and explain how to you.

In my standard res cartos I use no more than 20% VG so I can get decent reuse and out of them. I imagine 30% VG may work Ok in hotter cartos since heat loosens juice. But thick juices hang up in the stuffing and don't wick well enough to keep the area around the coil wet.

The juice is probably to thick for the carto's wick to feed the coils. You could take a break between hits to allow for it to wet the coils or thin the juice with some PG which will cut the flavor quite a bit. 70% VG is just to thick for cartos. You might try using that juice in an atty instead. I don't like to go any higher than 40% VG in a carto and even that gives me trouble if I turn the volts up to much.
