(full charge greatly shortens battery life).

When looking closely at the numbers, this detail checks out as another Internet myth.

When only using 50% of capacity and getting twice as many charge cycles equates to the exact same USAGE life.

You may increase the usage life by a slim margin, but saving 10 cents or so over the course of a couple years isn't worth the effort of monitoring the charger constantly for that perfect moment.

ETA; utilizing the cell WELL below it's rated specs, storing them at their nominal voltage for any prolonged periods without use, storing them in a cool, dry environment and charging on a charger with a soft start that slowly ramps up to full amperage will ALL do MAGNITUDES more good in prolonging the usage life of your cells.

I can't believe you are non-believer.
When you charge battery to 86% (4.1V instead of 4.2 V) you will double number of charge cycles. Huge savings on batteries (unfortunately I am not a faithful saver...)

Spent years focused on lithium batts before I came here. Dozens of guys have graphed out thousands of batteries life cycles and proven that dramatic savings is bunk.

Battery U is great for general knowledge. But you have to be careful. A false detail will get you one day.

I was never focused on batteries. I just follow common sense. It tells me battery university is generally right, at least in this specific section.

And I followed data meticulously gathered by guys who followed every detail on hundreds of dedicated batts.

You believe what you want.

I tried...
