Charger question

I'm pretty new here. Right now I have an MPV with a protank. I just ordered a Vamo V5 with Efest 18650's and a Trustfire 2 bay charger. After reading about these chargers I'm a little paranoid. Seriously.... Are these things safe? lol Do I need to be there when they're charging? Should I not leave a battery in the charger overnight? Should I put it in some kind of fire resistant container while charging? Last but not least.... Is there a safe charger I can use overnight? Seems crazy to even bother using this thing if it's that unsafe lol

That charger isn't the safest nor the most desired.

Everyone will say, "don't leave batteries charging unattended which includes overnight charging"

People with far more experience and knowledge than I have say that you should NOT leave batteries in the charger overnight.

There are no known "safe chargers" that you can leave the batteries in overnight. As stated above it's bad business to leave the batteries unattended for that long. Putting the charger in a fire proof container is a good idea no matter where you leave them to charge.

Wow, I was going to ask that same question as I was going to order the Vamo V5 kit off Fasttech. It comes with two cheap batteries though and a no name charger. Really questioning the safety of it. Maybe someone will recommend good quality batteries and chargers for us. Thinking I should just buy it all separately and pay the extra.

The charger that came with my Vamo setup made me nervous, especially after reading here about the dangers. I replace it with a Nitecore 4-bay charger, which got pretty good reviews, so I'm more comfortable with it. I think I paid about $20 for it on Amazon. These are nice because they also will charge Nimh batteries.

A huge bonus was that it takes about 1/2 the time (or less) to charge the batteries.

Wow I didn't realize the Nitecore ones were that cheap. I'll have to look into them. I know nothing is 100% safe but I would prefer something that is at least a little more reputable.

Nitecore, xtar, pila...those are some reputable ones. I use an Efest LUC charger.
