Hello, this was my first sucessful wick, since getting my Ody yesterday afternoon. Did one but goofed it up, did this one and was working and vaping great for about 8-10 hours hitting it hard and chain vaping to see how it performs. Today I started tasting that it was off, not exactly burned but a bit harsher. Took top off and took juice out, ( not discoloured) but the coil area seems pretty gunked up and crusty with ashy bits. Ceramic is fine, not burned, did I wrap the coils to tight. I used cotton.

Im vaping at about 4.25 volts at less than 8 watts. Im vaping on The Plume Room 50/50 twisted turkish tobacco. Please let me know what I did wrong, or is it just the juice.

thank you

Probably is just the juice, some juices (dark ones, tobacco and with too much sweetener in it) gunk the coil / wick area very fast.

In my case, the home made juices (PG + VG + Nic Liquid + Flavor) are less aggressive with the coil / wick, I have been able to vape home made juices for weeks without change the coil / wick, only with little increase in the coil resistance: initially at 1.5 ohms and sometime after it meters 2.1 ohms.
