My two 1.5 year old AW IMR 18650s (2000mAh) display 4.2V on my Provari as well as on my Lavatube v1 when fully charged. I bought these from Provape, an authorized reseller of AW batteries.

I just received two new AW IMR 18650s from a respected eliquid vendor. These batteries only, for whatever reason, show 4.2V when fully charged on the Lavatube v1, but the Provari only displays them as having achieved 3.9V on a full charge, quickly diminishing to 3.7, then 3.6 as the atomizer fires. On the same atomizer, the "Provape" batteries hold steady at 4.0V while firing.

Is this a case of an honest mistake having been made, or just an indication of the differences between individual batteries (one having been charged more than 150 times, the other having been charged maybe 4)?

Your new batteries may have to go thru a few more charging cycles to reach their full potential. But in the future, I would by the AW's from an authorized dealer. I don't know who your respected eliquid vendor is, but if he is not an authorized dealer, who knows where he is getting his batteries from. If he is on the list, then you should be ok, just give em a few more cycles.
