Dont feel bad about getting hosed by Smoking Everywhere. I paid even more than you did in a mall kiosk when I got started late last month. Something to the tune of 140 bucks for two batteries, one atomizer, and 5 cartridges. But you know what? I never smoked another cigarette again after I bought it. SE does not tell you that you can buy E-juice purposely to sell you their underfilled and overpriced cartridges for two bucks a piece. Fortunately for me I found this forum about a week after I bought my Ecig from SE. I now own an 801 pen type (nice mellow evening puffer), and 901 (my workhorse to get me over the rough spots with a great throat hit and vapor), and a 510 on the way. As someone stated earlier in this thread, even if you overpaid it was still worth it because it got you off regular cigarettes.

I use the RN4081 and I bought 2 complete e-cigs (includes battery and atomizer) for $46.00 from theindoorcigarette.com. I still use it and the customer service is great.

I have never tried the 510, but it's on my agenda and I found the cheapest to be $38.90 from Ruyan Direct. Starter kit - Heaven-gifts.com Ruyandirect.com Best E-smoking Shop

Anyhow, the ladder is based in China and the former is USA with incredibly fast shipping.

The 510 is a good e-cig. When you get it, you'll find out that the 510 is almost a clone of the 4081. I have both. They are so similar, they have to be brothers (Could be mistaken for each other at a distance.). Almost the same size, same style atomizers, similar batteries, and since they now have double size carts for the 4081, they're even closer. I get the same hit and vapor production from both. The only difference, is the 510 manual batteries don't last as long as the 4081 automatics. Other than battery life, you're vaping the same thing. I did a price comparison too, and they are within a buck or two for kits, and parts.

I'm planning on doing a short video comparing the vapor production, as soon as I can get home for a couple of days.

So when somebody tells a newbie to get rid of his new NPRO / SE Gold / RN4081, and get a 510, .............Well, I'm not going any further.

But don't get me wrong. As I said, I have em both, and love em both.

Hey ... thank you ALL for the info.

First and foremost, I have been unable to contact them to cancel my order. They have a phone number but it is only for Monday through Friday. I hope that I can contact them in the morning and they allow me to cancel it.

If they will not cancel it, I hope that the throat hit and the nic that the cartridges provide will be enough to get me off the analogs. At this point, I'm desperate.

I will be getting a usb passthrough as I am at my computer desk 95% of the day that I am awake. That and some juice and I'm hoping the SE e-cig will work well.

I ordered the starter kit which comes with 5 cartridges of 16mg (full) strength tobacco flavor. I also ordered 5 extra of the same and 5 of the full strength cherry flavored. I'm not too sure I'll like the flavored ones, but I'll never know unless I try.

Anyone care to share their preference of juices, flavors, and the amounts used to create the 'perfect' mix? I know it is going to be different for everyone, but a base guideline to start working with would be great.

Also, are there real differences between the different liquid nicotine that these different companies offer?

Thanks SO much guys ... this forum is great!

Hey Eli,

If they don't let you cancel, c'est le vie. If you like your SE, and it helps you cut down your analog consumption or kick the analogs all together, you're still ahead. It won't take long before you break even. I figured that I will save roughly $100 a month by going to analogs, and that's even with budgeting in a new atomizer every month.

There's definitely a difference between e-liquids and carts. I would think that your best bet is to order samples of different e-juice before you shell out the dough for a larger amount. I purchased some samples from NuVape.com last week, and I'm pretty happy with them so far. They're $1.99 for a sample bottle with free shipping until the end of the month, so you can't lose really. They ship really fast too. I put in an order on Wednesday and I had it on Saturday.

I'm a total newb, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

Oh, I forgot to mention cart filler.

It's nice to have extra filler material for your cartridges around if you are going between flavors. You can get a gigantic bag of poly-fill at Walmart for next to nothing. I bought a 20oz bag today for $2.67. I think I have enough for about a decade.

Check out Spikey's video for more info. It's in the "Comprehensive Intro to Vaping" post. I'd link it, but I'm not allowed yet :)

I must have gotten a bad kit on the 4081 black super. That's got to be it because I trust what you're saying. I've tried all suggestions, but I'm packing mine up.

Go ahead if you want and pack it up, but don't trash it. If you ever decide to pull it out and give it another try, or get it going for a back-up, we'll work a little to get it going.

Help is close by if you need it.

Appreciate that Jim. Right now with my JS and 510's I'm going good. It was just frustrating for me and frankly I liked the auto idea as well as the size. And you're right about mixing them up with the 510. I embarrassed myself early on with that..... on a cartridge question.

You will find that the SE cartridges dont last long at all. At least they didnt for me. I was a pack and a half two pack a day guy for 29 years. I was going through 5 or 6 cartridges a day before I found this place and found out about e juice. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the stores online and buy yourself a 15 or 30 ml bottle of e juice to fill up your SE carts. At two bucks a piece for the carts the e juice will save you a bundle. A 15 ml bottle of e juice last me around 2 weeks and I vape damn near all day long. You can get 15 ml bottles of ejuice for around 10 bucks a piece not including shipping. You will be miles ahead if you do this.

I woke up yet again, and can't get back to sleep. Why? Because I'm so damn excited about getting off these cancer sticks, once and for all!

I figured that I will save roughly $100 a month by going to analogs, and that's even with budgeting in a new atomizer every month.

I figured I would save quite a bit less than that, but my figures were based on buying the expensive cartridges from smoking-everywhere ... and each cartridge would be equal to a full pack. Marketing at it's worst, eh?

I'm a total newb, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

The 'newb' advice is as valuable to me as the 'old school' advice. Seriously, 'newbs' are just a few steps ahead of me and are experiencing things as it happens where as 'old schoolers' had those experiences quite a while ago and their experiences have changed based on new info, new products, and new experiences. Both are valuable, so don't discredit your view just because you recently started vaping bro. ;)

Great info! Thanks so much for that!! I am slowly exploring the site and gleaning useful info at every step. Always more to learn, it seems. :)

He OP, don't worry about what car your drove to the party in, just be glad that you got here!

I'm already starting to look around for the best prices on juices and cartridges and atomizers. I will be ordering some probably this morning ... as soon as I find out if I can stop my grossly over-priced smoking-everywhere order.

The way I see it, I'm planning on stocking up as much as I can before the senate passes the 'Family Smoking Prevention And Tobacco Control Act' ... which I have no doubt it will be passed as it is being pushed by numerous democrats (filabuster proof majority) and being backed by Altria (parent company of Phillip Morris). That makes me think that the FDA, as soon as it passes, will move against e-cigs at an alarming rate. I want to be prepared. ;)

Thanks again and again guys! Time to surf this forum and learn.

It'll be OK. Just don't get caught up in having to have every new device that pops up on here. They all have there issues. There is no perfect device, they aren't just like a cigarette, they aren't perfect... They all work in their own way, just take your time.

I couldn't have said it any better.:thumb:

I understand what you mean, but I can't help but be excited. I won't be the guy running and buying every product that comes out, but I do want the best product that I can start with. ;)

After all these years of smoking, I'm delighted at the thought of a cleaner, safer alternative. Delighted isn't the right word, but truthfully I'm not sure there is a right word.

I am a bit overwhelmed at all of the knowledge and such stored on this forum. There is a lot to learn, and since this is such an important topic ... well, lets just say that I'm going to be around somewhat constantly for the next several days.

Anything that might point me in the right direction is appreciated. I'm just starting into the 'learning' posts now ...

The best for you is not necessarily the best for someone else. Everyone has their preferences. You're going to hear, "get this" and "get that" all the time.

Most are decent for starters. Research, get something that looks good to you, and learn. A lot of it is trial & error. There's always someone around here to help, no matter what model you decide on.

If you have it and it keeps you from smoking tobacco it's worth every penny. However, if you don't have it yet, then yes you got a bit ripped. I suggest a 510 manual switch from Eastmall.

I suggest any 510 actually but Eastmall is a good price 59 bucks for a starter kit and the product is always in good shape (that's my experience thus far)

Ordering from China (the motherland of the vaping community) takes about a week and worth every minute! $59 is a good price for a Joye 510. Actually, when you think about it, $99 is really a good price for a 510. Then again, ANY price is better that smoking analogs! I love the signs outside the gas station that advertise one (1) pack of cigarettes for $4.59. That's not an ourtrage... It's a sale!

I've had great success with RuyanDirect. They have the Joy510 for $38.90. And e-liquid for $9.50 (30ml) and $3.50 (10ml). I like to order the 10ml bottles so I can try a few different flavors. Just tried their coffee flavor, amazingly like coffee (whole bean, not ground).

The only other place I've seen with better or equal prices is Healthcabin. Same juices (but more flavors) and almost identical prices. It's worth the wait and comes with FREE bubblewrap!

Wonderful advice. I have three people I vape with.

One loves her DSE103. Great battery life, terrible cartridges! Not even worth bothering to top off the carts. It's made for direct dripping. And she gets a freakish amound of vapor from it! Looks like 100mm cigarette but thicker.

The other has a DSE901. The best of all worlds. Dependable, sleek and stylish, and made for topping off. Easy to flood with liquid, so hold off on the dripping. Great for topping off due to the cartridge design. Good vapor and good throat hit.

I use the Joy510, which has the best of everything above. Great vapor, really brings out the flavor in the juice, rarely clogs so I feel confident to add a drop to the atomizer when I'm in the mood, good throat hit, and good battery life (close to the 901 or a little less). Because of the better vapor I think it deliver's the nicotine better so I'm more satisfied. I can vape my 901 all day, but when I use the 510 I can put it down for an hour with no real cravings. And unlike the other two, it has a cool nickname! The Yeti!

Just don't buy the JOY306 or DSE084. They're the size of a real cigarette. I had a JOY306 (loved that little guy, like a mini DSE103) and have heard good reviews about the DSE084, but the battery life is so short they may leave you stranded. I couldn't wait to get rid of the JOY306 based only on batterly life, but it was my first and opened the door to all kinds of possibilities.

I just finished the 'Intro to vaping' video ... wow. Lots and lots to learn, even of the basics. By the way, Spikey has to be the most awesome person alive. To put so much work and effort into helping people learn, thats a fantastic and selfless thing. I doubt she will read this, but just in case: two thumbs up and thanks for the fantastic share.

I keep reading so many different opinions on ordering directly from China, it is starting to get confusing to me. I understand that virtually all these products originate from there, so why do so many people think it is a bad idea to order directly? Do the U.S. companies that re-sell these products do a quality check to assure that you receive a good working product every time or something? I can understand the differences in opinions on many things, but that one just doesn't click for me ...

I have five pages open in firefox that I am currently looking at (price checking and such): Eastmall, Nuvape, totallywicked-eliquid, ruyandirect, and rockymountainvapor. I'm looking for the most bang for my buck on liquids at the moment (but also looking for best prices on atomizers).

Overwhelmed is a fantastic word and I'll use it here ... I'm overwhelmed at the differences in prices and the massive overwhelming amount of different products.

Fantastic is a fantastic word as well, and I'll use it here ... This site, the people on it, and the feeling of helpful understanding is a fantastic (and overwhelming) feeling.

Good times,

Eli
