Did I get sold the wrong coils?

I went to my local B&M last night looking to get their advice on taking a step up from my current setup, an EVOD 2 tank (1.5 ohm) and an EVOD VV 1000 mAh batter, in order to get better flavor. I decided on an AeroTank v1 (they didn't have v2), which comes with 2 ohm coils. The guy behind the counter told me I could get a better hit by going with 1 ohm coils. I was concerned that my battery couldn't handle that, but I haven't been able to find any information for current or resistance limitations for that battery, and he told me it would be fine. I bought the five pack of 1 ohm coils, popped one in at home, and was able to vape last night without any obvious issues.

Cut to this morning, and I see that evcigarettes.com specifically says not to use 1.2 or 1 ohm dual coils with an eGo-style battery because it can damage the battery. Should I be asking for my money back/looking for a new store?

I would go back and tell the clerk what you've learned on the net (here) and ask what the reasoning is. Just like with any other business/product, there are clerks who know the products and those who don't... some recommend what's good for their stock supply instead of your needs. Personally I would never drop below what the manufacturer recommends.
